Very Easy Interview

Summer Intern - Facilities Engineer (Electrical Engineer In Technical Department) Interview

Anonymous Employee
El Segundo, CA

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Chevron in November 2013.

Interview Details – I applied and interviewed through my university. Two young Chevron representatives who worked within the area I applied for conducted the interview. The questions were entirely behavioral and not difficult. They especially look for leadership skills and personality in addition to your credentials. At the end they asked if I had other offers, and to let them know if I had to accept by a certain date. I did, and notified them. I received an offer within two weeks.

Since it is such a large company, the process was a bit impersonal and I struggled figuring out who to contact. I was not able to receive a detailed explanation of what I would be doing during the internship.

Interview Question – They will want to hear about experiences on your resume.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation, but I was granted a large relocation stipend considering the cost of living in El Segundo.

Process Engineer Intern Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate

I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Chevron in October 2013.

Interview Details – Used STAR (situation, task, action, result) format. The interview was low-stress but that was because the interviewer seemed apathetic. The process was formal, but comfortable. Enough time was allowed for thorough answers but the interview was not overly long.

Interview Question – Nothing out of the ordinary was asked.   Answer Question

Energy Technology Company Intern Interview

Anonymous Employee

I applied through college or university and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Chevron.

Interview Details – Interview process was a very structured behavioral interview. After a brief 10 minute review of your resume and transcript, recruiters ask questions based off of a company script. Responses must be given in the STAR format (Situation/Task/Action/Response). At the end, recruiters will ask you about other offers and what Chevron can do to ensure they are your number one option, i.e., location preferences, specific position/opportunities, etc.

Interview Question – Name a time when you taught someone, formally or informally.   Answer Question
