Health & Safety Specialist Interview

Health & Safety Specialist
Houston, TX

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Chevron Phillips Chemical.

Interview Details – The process took quite some time from start to finish. First there was a phone interview, two weeks later there was an in-person interview, and an offer came in six weeks after that. The face-to-face interview was a panel interview but the demeanor of the employees made it feel very laid back. It was a lot less intimidating than it sounds like it would be.

Interview Question – All the interview questions were very basic..."Explain a time when..." "Something you did to improve a process" and then some job-specific questions pertaining to my past experiences.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I made a counter offer that was not accepted.

Project Engineer Interview

Project Engineer
Beaumont, TX

I applied online - interviewed at Chevron Phillips Chemical in July 2012.

Interview Details – Applied for position on company Careers Website and answered basic questions and uploaded resume. I was contacted for a face to face interview, but it was to be at a restaurant in the evening. This was due to the busy schedules of the interviewers. I was interviewed by the Plant Manager, the Project Dept. Manager, and HR Manager.

Interview Question – Due to the abnormal interview location (at a restaurant and not at the plant), the Plant Manager dispensed with regular Q&A process and she said "Tell about yourself, your background, and your qualifications for the position." They did followup with some questions based on my narrative about me. I have much experinece and wanted to say as much as I could about my qualities, so the process (including eating - I ate little of my dinner) took 2 hours.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – The interview was last night, but I expact an offer.
