I applied in-person. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Chipotle.

    Interview Details

We filled out a goal booklet that was filled with what we wanted our salary to be, where we see ourselves going with the company/how far we want to get in the company then they called us to a table to do a private interview and to get to know each of us a little more. Then they would contact you in a week. Once i was contacted we took a tour, met the workers and went straight to training/work. Both managers on property were very nice and extremely dedicated on the excellence of the company and the happiness of their employees. It does not take long to learn the tasks, but it is hardwork and determination to make sure things are done right.

I applied online. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Chipotle in September 2014.

    Interview Details

I had applied at Chipotle before, but never heard back. I applied again about a week ago, and a couple of days went by and still hadn't gotten a call, so I called on Thursday, asked for the manager, and said that I was calling to check up on my application. She asked my name, and then asked if I could come in for an Interview on Saturday. So I did, and had a basic "Tell me about yourself", "What do you know about Chipotle?" "What would make you a good worker?" etc. kind of interview with the GM. It took about ten or fifteen minutes. She jotted down a couple of basic notes and that was it. She asked if I could come back for an interview tomorrow (sunday) to interview with the assistant manager and another manager, and they'd decide from there. So I came back for the 2nd interview and talked with both managers separately. The first guy asked the same questions the GM had asked, then said he'd go get the other guy. The 2nd guy came out and said that he'd asked and that all of the crew seemed to like me and that I could come back Tuesday to do paperwork and meet the whole crew. Probably the easiest and most comfortable interviews of my life.

    Crew Member Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Chipotle in September 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online and was contacted a day later for an interview the next day, I couldn't make it so I moved it to a further day (from a Thursday to a Sunday). The interview was at 2:15pm so I arrived around 1:55pm, told the cashier that I was there for an interview and she told me to take a seat and that she'd let the manager know I was here. The restaurant was super busy, the line curving almost the entirety of the room, so I was worried that I'd be overlooked since I was sitting down for a good 10 minutes without any of the employers interviewing or even acknowledging me. Three other girls showed up throughout the time I was waiting so we decided to sit outside in the patio area. We told another worker that we were there for an interview and she as well went to go tell the manager that we were there. We told a total of 3 different workers that we were there, each saying they would let the manager know but the 3rd worker came back and told us that no one had let the manager know but to sit down and wait some more because the manager was busy either way; it took until roughly 2:50pm for us to be interviewed. I was not impressed.

Luckily, everything got better from then on.

One of the chillest, most relaxed interviews I've ever had! And this is coming from someone who'd rather get intensive dental work than do interviews (I seriously suck at them).

The manager came out with a crew member. She introduced herself and the crew member and then asked us:

    1. Tell me about yourselves? What do you guys like to do for fun?

    2. What do you know about Chipotle?

    3. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

    4. Any questions?

And that was pretty much all the questions she asked. There were four of us and three of us (myself included) talked plenty so I think we took up a huge time of the interview. They seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say, asking us to further expand on our hobbies (ex. if I said I loved to read they ask to know what some of my favorite books were, etc). They also told us that they prefer for us to NOT have any prior experience, which surprised me (I have no prior experience so I was glad about that). Don't forget to mention Food With Integrity, and that they empower their employees. You'll be a shoe-in. Do your research!

After they told us that they would either call or email us for a second interview either that same day or next. I didn't receive a call nor an email until two days later to meet up for a second interview the next day.

I arrived ten minutes early and two of the girls from my first interview arrived a few minutes after me. They had us wait and offered each of us a drink. We chatted amongst ourselves and then a crew member sat down amongst us and started chatting and asking us why we wanted to work at chipotle. All very relaxed (this was not part of the interview… although, it might have been a test).

The manager and two other crew members came out and we moved our group to the patio area. The manager talked about herself and her past experiences with Chipotle. The other manager that we had interviewed with previously showed up somewhere along this time. They then proceeded to ask us scenario questions.

    1. What would you do if you noticed someone left uncooked meat out for a questionable amount of time and put the meat back into the refrigerator after a long day?

    2. What would you do if a customer told you did not put enough meat into his/her order and requested you put more meat? <— I received this one

    3. What would you do if some higher up than you didn't season the meat appropriately and you saw?

After we answered, the two managers started talking to each other and then told us we’d be proceeding into the third interview. We were taken into the restaurant and asked to say hi and chat with the crew members working. The manager pretty much told us that we were in at this point. We got a run through of where everything was and were then excused and told we'd be contacted in two days.

Two days later I got the call. $9.25 an hour, non-negotiable. I accepted. They sent an email where I had to do a background check and two days after that I received another email to fill out other documents including tax forms and agreeing to Chipotle policies and other forms. The next step is to set up a date and time for orientation which I’ve yet to do.

    Best of luck guys!!

$9.25 an hour. Non-negotiable. I lived in San Francisco where the minimum wage is $10.50 so I was bit disappointed but beggars can't be chooser.

I applied online. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Chipotle in September 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online. The next day, I received an email stating there are open interviews on mondays and wednesdays from 3:30-5:00. Earlier that day, before i checked my email, I called them and the person i spoke to told me about the open interviews.

(This is my very first job application and job interview)

I go to the open interview and there were 2-3 other people there. After 2 people, I was interviewed. The guy who did my interview was the General Manager. I was asked basic questions such as level of education, what days and shifts I would like to work, do i have reliable transportation, what do I usually do everyday.
Then I was asked if i knew background information about chipotle which is food with integrity and the CEO Steve Ells. I did, because prior to the interview I looked up these facts on their website.
In the middle of this interview, the general manager went to his office and pulled up my application and took a quick look but that's it.
Then questions came up like Why do you want to work at chipotle? What do you expect to get out of working from chipotle? Where do you see yourself in this job in a few months? Do you see yourself in the line or in the food prep?
After that, he had another person, a kitchen manager, interview me with the same questions and they were gonna have one more manager, the service manager, interview me as well but that manager was busy with someone else. They hired me. Manager told me they sent me a link to a background check test on my email, fill the form and once they get the form they will call me when I start.

    Interview Questions
    • There was really no unexpected question or difficult ones. Just answer everything honestly, because the company and managers value honesty, and give yourself time to think before responding. They also love someone who smiles and/or shows energy.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
No negotiations really. I told the manager what days and shifts I want to work and he says okay and asks me if sometime in the future I want to work more.
I put 7.25 as my preferred wage on my online application and I never asked about my wage until the first day and it was 8.50. Good for a first job for a high school student. Note : Each chipotle has their own wage rates. I have people in my school working at other chipotles. The wage ranges from 8.25 to 9.00

I filled out an application online, and within a few days, I got a call and schedule my interview date, the next day. I interviewed with the the assistant manager, she asked pretty basic questions, mostly about myself and job experience (which I had none), and she said she would called me about another interview. Later on that day I got a another call for my 2nd interview. The 2nd interview was with a crew member and pretty much asked me the same questions as the first. I got another call later that day for a 3rd and final interview with the general manger where she just ask my availability and salary, and why I wanted to work there and at the end she said she was going to call me and tell when I would cone in for orientation.

    Interview Details

I applied online and was contacted about a job fair. I went to the job fair and was interviewed by the kitchen manager in a group of 4. It was an easy interview, just went in a line to answer all the questions. I was called the same day for a second interview. The next day I came in for the interview and it was 4 of us from the job fair. The apprentice manager guy showed us a video and talked about what an employee at Chipotle should have. He gave us each a paper with three essay questions on it and told us to bring it in when we finish it. I brought it in the next day and was told I would be called. Two days later I got a call for a "crew interview" and when I arrived it was me and the girl from the second interview. We talked to the crew for about 45 minutes then left and once again was told we would be called. Two days later, I went into chipotle to eat and one of the girls recognized me from the crew interview and asked if I wanted to speak to the GM. I did and he asked if I would be part time or full time and then I got offered the job.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Chipotle in August 2014.

    Interview Details

So I applied to be a Part-Time Team Crew Member and a few days after I applied I received an email that told me when and where my interview would take place and to only email back if I couldn't make it. I showed up about fifteen minutes early and had to wait for about ten minutes while they waited for an interviewer to show up. I was interviewed by two men who were very friendly. I brought a few copies of my resume, cover letter, and references with me which was good because they didn't have copies. The interview was very chill. They asked why I wanted to work there, why I liked the company, and my long term goals. Then they told me a bit about their company and asked how and why I think I would fit in with it. I asked my questions and they told me more about the company and then told me they would contact me later that day to let me know if I would get a second interview. They called me maybe an hour later to offer me a full time position but not at the location I applied but not too far away either. I already had a part time job but he gave me an offer above what I was being paid there so I took the job. The next day I met with the team who were extremely friendly. The manager showed me around and I got to ask questions of the team. So basically it took one interview to get the job but meeting the rest of the crew was also very important. All in all a great experience and Chipotle really seems to invest their time in you to make you better.

    Interview Questions
    • After he told me about Chipotle and it's ideals and work goals and he asked me how and why I think I would fit in with it. Why I want to work there, my long term goals, and would I be willing to work at a different location but still close to where I was.   Answer Question
    Negotiation Details
I told them that I would accept anything but he said I shouldn't sell myself short and offered me $9.00 an hour for part time and offered me $9.50 an hour if I would quit my other job and it sounded like if I had wanted more I maybe could have got it. They said they would do whatever it takes to get me to stay.
