    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Choice Hotels in May 2015.

    Interview

I attended a Choice Career Fair. It was a well thought out event. It was well prepared, and well staffed with many hiring managers in attendance and an abundance of of positive energy in the air. After registering and linking my online profile to my registration information I was directed to areas of interest based on a provided list of current openings. One introduction led to another, I networked and spoke with a number of hiring managers. I was Introduced to an HR representative who scheduled a phone screen for the very next day. A face to face interview with the hiring manager was scheduled the day after that. Everything about the process an was extremely positive experience! Kudos to all the planners and participants that made it such a success.

    Front Desk Agent Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at Choice Hotels.

    Interview

The manager and I spoke for roughly 40 minutes and it was quite easy. He explained everything he expects from a front desk agent and answers all of your questions. He was very detailed and thorough. It was set up more like a conversation instead of your typical interview. We did the process in the back dining room which made it a bit less formal but still formal because it is still an interview. It took the edge off, is where I'm getting at.

really long interview (1.5 hours) with 3 different people -- 1 loyalty, 1 HR, 1 senior recruiter. pretty basic interview and easy questions. they were all really nice and kind, were genuinely interested in why you wanted to work at Choice Hotels and what your interests/opinions on the hospitality/travel industry are .

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Choice Hotels in December 2014.

    Interview

Laura Perez, Sr. Recruiter practices blatant poor recruiting practices. She is cynical impolite with job candidates. She did not show up on time for interviews. She usually arrive late for interviews and talks like a bummer. There is a lack of professionalism, ethics, and respect.

    Interview Questions

    Reasons for Declining

There is bad impression about Choice Hotels because of blatant poor harsh recruiting practices. They recruit candidates who can accept low salary.

    Interview

On campus and in phone. It was different because I have the second interview by phone. I thought it would be the other way around. I guess there was scheduling issues and wanted to fit me in. The questions were mostly like tell me about yourself, what project have you done? have you worked in a group?, etc. And of course explain these with an example

    Interview Questions

    • Tell me about yourself and what have you done. These questions always make me anxious but once I start talking it is fine. Also what do you want to learn from choice is another one   Answer Question

I applied through college or university. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Choice Hotels.

    Interview

Everyone is very nice and friendly, however, the in-person interviews take FOREVER. Each candidate interviews with multiple people, and each interview is pretty much the same. I think I had 7 interviews in one day! The HR department is pretty disorganized and tough at times to deal with, but the company culture is great and very important. For the most part, they'll hire more on the personality than the skills.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Choice Hotels.

    Interview

First met them at a university career fair and got an interview. First interview was mostly behavioral questions with HR. Second interview was on-site with more technical questions. Neither was very difficult or had unexpected questions. Very laid back and casual atmosphere. NOTE: This was for the IT headquarters in Phoenix, not the Rockville location. I've heard that they are more formal.

    Interview Questions

    • Don't remember a specific question. But it was probably somewhere along the lines of describing my SQL experience and them asking questions off of that.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

    Internship. No negotiation.
