    Interview

The HR confirmed a phone interview with the VP 3 days in advance. They called me at 9. Basically normal questions on the former experience, edu background. The interviewers are very nice however, I do not think I perform well. They asked many questions about your skills and past experience.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Citi (Long Island City, NY) in July 2015.

    Interview

The interview process was a complete waste of time. I applied online and the process took roughly three days. Applied on a Friday, and received an email from HR the following Tuesday to schedule a 30 minute call. On Wednesday after a brief conversation with HR, I was then invited to interview with two of the Hiring Managers I would presumably be working along with. The Hiring Managers were quite friendly and knowledgeably about the department they were sanctioned in. Now that is the positive, I took from the interview process. However, the negative stems from inviting candidates to interview knowing he/she lacks the main job requirement they are seeking. I asked myself, if resumes are viewed by HR and the Hiring Managers in its entirety because if so, know ones time would have been completely wasted. My resume clearly left out one of the main components they were seeking but yet they still invited me to interview which translates into wasting my time, gas, money (as I am unemployed), and energy. I was told directly I did not have what they were looking for and since the position is in NY, was also told the competition is stiff. Essentially, my resume is weaker than the competition. But if they as in the Hiring Managers were aware of that before inviting me to interview, why invite me to interview?? To top it off, the Senior Manager was in a rush as she had a meeting scheduled after my interview, so the interview was completely rushed and my questions were all not answered, as there were time constraints. Lets face it they can care a less about your "out of work" status, because they're employed. Overall my experience turned into a negative one. Because as an unemployed candidate, I resent driving all of the way to interview, (1.5 hours one way) using money that I basically do not have just for the interviewers to tell me well I do not feel you are who we're looking for. All of that was known on my resume, but again they still invite you to interview. I am not sure if there is some type of a quota they have to fill (as it relates to how many people they need to interview), but it would be beneficial if they properly viewed resumes before inviting the individual on-site knowing he/she do not meet their initial requirements.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Citi (Dallas, TX) in July 2015.

    Interview

It was difficult because the Hiring Manager asked me about my current job and after explaining an unusual hierarchy, he got caught up on semantics and how my current job was set up. Instead of focusing on the skills that I bring to the table, he kept wanting to discuss and understand how my current job's business was organized.

    Interview

It was a sham-- they already had an internal person they wanted and were just going through the motions because they needed to show they vetted lots of people. Citi has an internal mobility "process" that is a joke-- its a policy on paper-- they really don't care about the integrity of the process or finding the best person for the role (particularly true for female candidates)

I went to the career fair, was called for an interview at school, and went to the company for super day. It wasn't that hard. Just study data structures, big O, and study over your resume. They like to ask about your projects.

    Interview

The interview questions themselves were fairly typical. Having had experience that was congruent with the job I didn't have very much trouble answering the questions. The interviewer was extremely kind, extremely patient and well spoken. I was nervous but she didn't mind at all to repeat a question or two. The interview was done completely over the phone.
