    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Coles Group in July 2015.

    Interview

As it was a small store, there was no group interview. Instead applicants just had a one on one interview with the store manager. I got an email about open positions at Coles in my area on the 27th July and applied that day. The application involved completing the "our store experience" questionnaire online which showed a variety of animated scenarios with several multiple choice responses to choose from. Additionally there was a question asking why you are interested in this position in about 200 words; it's very important you answer this question properly and understand the question is also eluding to why Coles should hire you and what you can offer them. Once the online application is complete, it is sent to Coles HR department where HR will decide whether the application meets their requirements; if it does, it will be sent to the manager at the store you applied for. The store manager will then decide whether to progress your application to an interview and will call you in the coming days for a one on one interview. I dressed in attire similar to that of what Coles wears, arrived early to the Store and asked for the store manager at the service desk. I followed the store manager into the back store area and upstairs to a small interview room. There were two people here, one was asking my questions and the other was writing down notes. After several questions were asked I was asked if I had any questions for them and was told I should get a call by next week if I was successful.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Coles Group.

    Interview

After the group interview which really just involved working with team mates to solve a case study, I proceeded to the final stage. The first part of this involved an impromptu speech about something you would do to improve Coles. The second 'meet and greet' part involved these questions: 1. Why Coles Graduate program? 2. Tell me an experience where you had to lead a team / work in a team 3. Tell me an experience where you had to provide exceptional customer service. 4. Tell me an experience where you brought innovation and what were the results? 5. Tell me what do you think is the differentiating factor of Coles? 6. Where do you think Coles can improve? They were really friendly and it felt like a small chat.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Coles Group in November 2009.

    Interview

There was a mass interview ( >50 people) which consisted of a group presentation of a product. Successful groups were then called back for individual interviews. These were semi formal and pretty laid back all things considered because it was hiring school kids for casual and part time positions. After the interviews a group induction was held (work place health and safety) and then individual department inductions.
