I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Coles Group.

Interview Details – coles work on a group interview basis, usually students and those aged 16-35 come to these interviews. Group participation across all activities is heavily required to make you stand out from the crowd. But those undertaking this process should adhere to quality of answers over the quantity of them.

What does teamwork mean to you?
When are you available?
How long can you see yourself working for us?

I applied in-person and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Coles Group in May 2010.

Interview Details – I was employed at a time when all you had to do is write your name in an exercise book and they will call you. Now I believe it is all done online. It is very simple. After they call you there will be an interview. It is impossible to stuff this up.

Interview Question – There wasn't anything unexpected. Just basic questions asking if somebody was doing something wrong, would you tell your manager?   Answer Question

I applied through a staffing agency and the process took a day - interviewed at Coles Group in April 2012.

Interview Details – I applied through an agency and went for an interview within a week. The interview process was a mixture of technical and behaviour type standard questions. It was nothing too difficult and having worked at coles, it helps that I knew the interviewer, it was all very casual.

Interview Question – There was nothing too difficult as mentioned before and it was more of a catch up session having worked there before.   Answer Question

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Coles Group.

Interview Details – My brother worked at the local Coles & they were looking for new casual staff to hire. I was at high school & thought this would be a great first job.

At the time, I was able to have the hiring process sped up due to my brother already being employed & I had also met my potential manager. After about a year, the hiring process for the Coles Group changed & made it nearly impossible to bypass or speed up - it is a compulsory & sometimes lengthy process that I have had many friends complain about the time it takes to get to the interview stage.

Interview Question – The interview I had was very casual & brief - I had pretty much been given the job already so the interview was more a formality at this stage.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation was available. Everything is very standard process at Coles.
