I interviewed through a recruiter. The process took 3 months - interviewed at Convergys in February 2014.

The interview process was pretty easy if you know about tech support and basic computer information you will be fine. They reach out to you through e-mail and then you are scheduled to go to the office and take computer test.

    Interview Questions
    • The most difficult part was the computer test you are not fully aware of what they are looking for so you are kind of blind going in. Some of the staff present themselves as being a little unprofessional the office is nice but staff seem to be all over the place as far as who you are if they have spoken to you and all your pre-contact information that they should have sometimes gets lost.   Answer Question

I received an email to schedule a phone interview. Once I did the phone interview, I was told I'd get an update the following week. After two weeks, I sent a follow up email and never heard back from anyone. Then after more than a month, I received an automated email letting me know they'd moved on with another candidate.

This was my first "interview" with the company. There was no interview as such but rather just four assessments including basic computer skills, english, typing and memory test. The english test consisted of 20 multiple choice questions and computer skills about 40 questions. For testing memory they gave a passage to read and then question sheet with space to write answers.

    • There was some additional paperwork to be completed after the assessments which included writing the steps to make a peanut butter jelly sandwich.   Answer Question

Initially I was contacted by phone and asked some preliminary questions such as my experience in dealing with customers and computer abilities. I was then scheduled for a phone interview within the next couple of days. The interview took place in the morning. I did not attend in-person during.

Fast and expedient process until given panel project. Prepared a very detailed powerpoint on how to recruit and stop attrition in the training process. Spent hours on this, 30 minute + presentation. Local research done, detailing the candidate pools and how to avoid losing people in the first 45+60 days. Then.....no follow up calls from the regional. left messages, emails....nothing. Extremely unprofessional way to handle this.

    Interview Questions
    • Panel presentation. Not difficult but the end run on their game was unprofessional to say the very least.   Answer Question

    Work At Home - Customer Service Representative - - Full-time - 113048 Interview

I interviewed online. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Convergys in March 2013.

    Interview Details

Bait and switch. I applied for the job online. Two days later they sent me an email asking me to test my system. One day later they sent me an email asking me to take the assessment test. There were three parts, typing, basics about computers, and simulation. Two days later somebody called me and asked me questions about my availability and told me about the position. He said that it would be a full time job. I would get benefits such as dental, medical, and tuition reimbursement. He asked me questions that were on the application and one or two questions that were on the assessment test. I think they just wanted to make sure that you were the person that took the assessment because it was kind of hard. The test was about computer basics and you have to know about computers to be able to answer the questions. The interviewer asked me on what screen can I find the volume control and what is the control panel for. At the end of the 5-minute interview he said someone would get back with me.

One week later somebody called me and said that she would need a few minutes to tell me about the job and see if I would still be interested in it. She said that it was a part time position. It would be a permanent job but it would be based on my sales goal. The goal was 13% which meant for every 100 callers I would have to successfully sell 13 people the products that they wouldn’t need. I would have to try to sell Direct TV's products to every caller that I talked to. Mind you that when I applied for the position the description said that sales might be involved. It didn't say that sales would be a big factor. If you couldn't make the 13% goal during your probation, they would not keep you. Also since the job was part time I might not even get benefits. I could work 20-30 hours a week between 5pm - 1am EST. I would have to have a landline and a required brand and model headset. I wish they could have been upfront and tell me what they would expect of me so I didn’t have to go through so many hoops to find out that wasn’t the job for me. They know a lot of people are desperate for a job right now. They try to take advantage of you.
