I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Convergys in March 2013.

Interview Details – Bait and switch. I applied for the job online. Two days later they sent me an email asking me to test my system. One day later they sent me an email asking me to take the assessment test. There were three parts, typing, basics about computers, and simulation. Two days later somebody called me and asked me questions about my availability and told me about the position. He said that it would be a full time job. I would get benefits such as dental, medical, and tuition reimbursement. He asked me questions that were on the application and one or two questions that were on the assessment test. I think they just wanted to make sure that you were the person that took the assessment because it was kind of hard. The test was about computer basics and you have to know about computers to be able to answer the questions. The interviewer asked me on what screen can I find the volume control and what is the control panel for. At the end of the 5-minute interview he said someone would get back with me.

One week later somebody called me and said that she would need a few minutes to tell me about the job and see if I would still be interested in it. She said that it was a part time position. It would be a permanent job but it would be based on my sales goal. The goal was 13% which meant for every 100 callers I would have to successfully sell 13 people the products that they wouldn’t need. I would have to try to sell Direct TV's products to every caller that I talked to. Mind you that when I applied for the position the description said that sales might be involved. It didn't say that sales would be a big factor. If you couldn't make the 13% goal during your probation, they would not keep you. Also since the job was part time I might not even get benefits. I could work 20-30 hours a week between 5pm - 1am EST. I would have to have a landline and a required brand and model headset. I wish they could have been upfront and tell me what they would expect of me so I didn’t have to go through so many hoops to find out that wasn’t the job for me. They know a lot of people are desperate for a job right now. They try to take advantage of you.
