Very quick and straight forward. They just want to know about your availability to work and you can't have any visible tattoos, painted nails, out of the ordinary piercings, or a crazy color of hair.

I interviewed in-person. The process took 5 days - interviewed at Cracker Barrel in June 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied in person and they told me to come back 2 days later on a monday around 2:30. I went and had an interview with an associates manager. She told me to come back the next day around the same time to have another interview. I talked to a different associates manager on the second day and she told me to come back the next day to have another interview. When I arrived on the 3rd interview to cracker barrel, they seemed to be at a busy time in the day. I stood around for 5 minutes waitng to talk to the general manager, but he was busy also. ANOTHER associates manager came around and informed me that there was a conference call that the GM had to attend to but he would try to squeeze me in beforehand. I stood around waiting for another 10 minutes until the same Associate manager sat me down for an interview. A few minutes into this one, the restaurant was getting crowded and the associates manager had to go help. He told me they would call in a week about it. Never got a call back. called after a week and they just told me my application would be in there for 30 days.

Really long, canned questions. Interviewers not overly friendly. Basically there were way too many interviews involved and those interviewing really had their noses in the air.

I interviewed in-person. The process took a day - interviewed at Cracker Barrel in May 2014.

    Interview Details

I went to my local Cracker Barrel and applied in person and was interviewed that same day by the Male Manager. After the interview he told me I was qualified for the position and told me twice he would call me for a second interview with the other manager (who was just hired) when he got her schedule in order. Two weeks later and have heard nothing from them, guess honesty isn't their first priority. I have another job now, but if you say you're going to call someone then you should it's common curiosity, and Cracker Barrel at least the one in my town is seriously lacking it.

I called the store just to ask about hiring opps for 16 year olds & was asked to come in! I came in, was interviewed with manager for servers & then was referred to retail manager. I was interviewed by her a few days later, then called back for interview with the store manager. The interview with the store manager was really nice, she & I just talked about the role I would have, she got to know me, & got a feel of my personality. The interview with the store manager was a bit more intense and straightforward!

First you fill out and application and ask to see a manager, after that a manager see you and lets you know if you qualify for any position available. Then, they either tell you to come back or to wait for a call.

Applied through snag-a-job, was contacted a few days later. No questions were asked; the manager simply explained the job duties. We both agreed I wasn't a fit.

I interviewed online. The process took 2 days - interviewed at Cracker Barrel in January 2014.

    Interview Details

One of the 5 managers (supervisors) interviewed me. He asked me various questions. Some of them were weird, like how much money I needed to make a week to pay my bills. Some of them normal, like how many hours I would like to work & what days I would be available to work. Apparently they only hire part-time though at this location. Something came across to me as odd during the interview about how the interviewer was talking & asking questions but couldn't place my finger on it. He was kinda skiddish & liked to talk, like he was reiterating the same points in different ways about the company. Almost like he was trying to make the company sound more desirable to work for then it was.

    Interview Questions
    • Most unexpected question was if I wanted to come back for a second interview. Apparently there are levels in the interview process. Supervisor level & General Manager level.   View Answer
