I applied through college or university - interviewed at Cummins.

    Interview Details

Applied for on campus interview through my university. All of you have to do is upload your resume The company officials emailed me. They were very nice and mostly asked personality questions and wanted to know more about your projects. My biggest disadvantage was that I was a freshman and didn't have too much to say about in my resume. If you have adequate experience and a likable personality the process is going to be easy.

It is an on campus interview. There is a pre-night one day before the actual interview, where you basicially socialize with the managers and recruiters. There are 6 behavioral questions for the first round of interview. 2 interviewers. The manager was very friendly and the recruiter was a little bit scary. Unfortunately, I didn't get to the second round of interview. But still, Cummins is a good company to work for.

I applied online. The process took 3+ weeks - interviewed at Cummins in August 2014.

    Interview Details

Online application through Cummins website. After a few weeks I was contacted for an initial phone interview with Cummins corporate recruiter. Interview was pretty straight forward and to the point with general questions about prior experiences, etc. At the end of the interview I was emailed a list of five questions to be completed by the end of the day. I spent a considerable amount of time considering and writing the responses. The recruiter stated "I will be back in touch as soon as I receive the next steps from the manager". Within a week I received a stock automated denial email.

I applied online - interviewed at Cummins in July 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied to an engineering position online in May 2014 and received an email from a Cummins recruiter in July 2014. A phone interview was scheduled a couple days after this initial contact. The interview, as most other interview experiences seem to have been, was just an initial screening interview with questions primarily focused on current work experiences and reasons why I was interested in working at Cummins. After being told I would hear back from them "soon" regarding next steps in the interview process, I never heard back from the recruiter after a few follow-up emails and phone calls.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Cummins.

    Interview Details

I interviewed twice with Cummins, a group interview with the hiring manager for the position and one of the other employees in the department. I later had a second interview with the dept. manager. The communication level was very lacking - I was only invited to interviews through a Google calendar invite without the necessary information (such as correct time of interview) always included, and text message followups from the hiring manager to confirm the invite details. When the hiring manager left me a message to let me know they were not going to offer the position to me, I was invited to call and discuss the decision at a specific time, at which there was no answer. Two attempts to take them up on the offer to discuss via phone, and one email later thanking them for the consideration and my desire for feedback, and I've had no response. Overall, a very unprofessional communication level, though I appreciated the quick pace of the process.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Cummins in May 2014.

    Interview Details

Referred by executive-level contact to Cummins executive level. Spoke with executive about the role, their needs, and the right fit. This would be an IT leadership team position with the ability to take over when the Executive Director (nee: CIO) retired by end of 2014/early 2015.

Discussed some very confidential business environment factors (including dysfunction/dissension among the executive ranks), turnover at the CIO level, an aging IT portfolio, and excessive spending on old technology.

Was promised to be part of the final list - that there would be 6-8 candidates, and the interview team would be formed within a week to ten days.

    • What would you do to influence change while leading a team of old (legacy) employees and new hires?   Answer Question

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a day - interviewed at Cummins in April 2014.

    Interview Details

I was contacted by a recruiter about a contract position with Cummins Filtration. The position required a working knowledge of Pro/E Creo. I interview in person and was shown a presentation about what the facility did, and I was shown an example of the type of projects I would be working on if I were to be hired. They asked me about my experience with Pro/E. I also described a design project I worked on in some detail. There weren't many behavioral interview questions. That might have been because it was a contract position that needed to be hired asap to do mostly modeling. After my interview I was given a part to model in Creo. The engineer and the HR individual who interviewed me were amicable.
