Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis Interview

Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis

I applied online and interviewed at DaVita.

Interview Details – Filled an app online and got a call 2 weeks later. Phone interview was pretty easy going. The recruiter was very friendly and set up a panel interview the following week. The panel interview was a little intimidating since it was 4:1. But it wasn't bad at all. The questions were what you would expect at any interview. Still waiting for an official answer.

Interview Question – Why do you want to work in dialysis? How would you handle a conflict at work?   Answer Question

Registered Nurse Interview

Registered Nurse

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at DaVita in December 2013.

Interview Details – Lengthy! First the recruiter calls you. The lower management schedules an interview and usually a higher manager will also interview you. You will also do a "share day", depending on the position you are applying for. This is a half day of inconveniencing some poor soul who has to show you the ropes, and then report back to the management to see if you are a good fit. Their opinion may be disregarded, so it is just another step in the process to consume your time.

Interview Question – What do you do for fun? (This is one of Davita's "core" values-who has fun at work? Unless you work at Pixar or Google?)   View Answer

Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis Interview

Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at DaVita in November 2013.

Interview Details – I did a phone interview over the phone. I was supposed to receive a phone call at 10:30 and received it at 11:00. She was running behind because it was the weekend after a holiday. She was very friendly and apologetic. We spoke on the phone about a half hour. She asked what kind of position I was looking for and came to figure out the hours did not work for me. She said she liked that I had dialysis experience and would submit my application to the manager in case something opened up that I was looking for.

Interview Question – She asked why I wanted to work for the company and she asked me about what type of experience I've had.   Answer Question

Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis Interview

Staff Nurse (RN), Renal Dialysis

I applied in-person and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at DaVita in June 2013.

Interview Details – Initial interview with recruiter dealt mainly with qualifications, hours of the job, and the company. Next interview was with the local team including the facility administrator, clinical coordinator and a tech. The questions were behavior based: what did I do in a certain situation in a previous position etc.

Interview Question – Tell us about a mistake you made and how you handled it.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Starting date was delayed several times due to "class" schedule. The entire process took way too long.

Village Health Telephonic Nurse Case Manager Interview

Village Health Telephonic Nurse Case Manager

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at DaVita.

Interview Details – Applied on line. Arranged for phone interview with the recruiter via emails. Positive interview with recruiter who then arranged phone interview with director of operations. Positive interview with director of operations. Recruiter arranged F2F interview with local manager at job-site. I met with local manager and nurse manager. Felt like they were going through the motions - lukewarm interview - left feeling like they already had someone else in mind.

Interview Question – Asked a couple of the usual behavioral questions. "Tell me about a time that you brought an idea to the team and your idea was actually implemented." And asked the typical questions about strengths and weaknesses. Nothing unexpected.   Answer Question
