Intern Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through an employee referral and interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – The interview was Okay, the partner was easy to talk with and candid about the work he had done and his experiences which made it easier for me to share my strengths and interests with him.
Interview Question – What was your favorite speech? Answer Question
Financial Advisor Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Deloitte in September 2013.
Interview Details – Got the Interview through Career Fair. Had an on campus interview. It was fairly generic. I was asked basic question about my resume. Mostly conversational and relaxed. I would recommend to prepare based on your own resume and practice telling stories or giving examples of time when you stood out and give real experiences
Interview Question – When I was asked about a specific part of my resume and requested that I elaborate in the experience Answer Question
Summer Leadership Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – I applied through OCR position and went to the second round. It was very competitive, but interview process was fun because I had time to look around the office with professionals and network with them before and after the interview. So I could learn so many things from the process.
Interview Question – Mostly behavioral questions Answer Question
Consulting Manager Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied online and the process took 5 months - interviewed at Deloitte in May 2014.
Interview Details – Multiple rounds
A - 3X phone screens across HR/Recruiting of 30-60 minute interviews. These entailed work background review; functional areas of competence, methodologies employed and relative skill levels, types of deliverables, size/scope of teams managed. Pretty involved and detailed for recruiting.
B - 2X phone interviews of 60 minutes each with senior managers in my areas of consulting. Questions on work background, team management and leadership style, hypotheticals on how I would handle different scenarios - from delivery risk issue management, client/stakeholder management, to how I would undertake, scope, plan and lead specific types of work. Lots of analytical and behavioral analysis.
C - Final round, on premises (flew to NYC) interviews with 3 partners, including 1 business case. 60 minutes each. Lead partner within the practice I was interviewing for focused on my perceptions of the industry, opportunities for growth and how these aligned with what I do and don't want to do.
Interview Question – Business case/case study question: Given a company that is in the prepared food business which receives raw product from growers into central processing sites then prepares them for sale by retailers and consumer use, how would you assess how to determine the root causes of their profitability issues. An accompany financial sheet was provided. View Answer
Audit Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in September 2012.
Interview Details – It's about 40 minutes interview. Most are behavior interview questions, like tell me about yourself, how would you handle difficult situation? What are your greatest strengths? Not hard question. My first interview in U.S, really good experience.
Interview Question – What is your biggest weakness? Answer Question
IT Consultant Interview (Neutral Experience)
I applied through college or university and interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – It was an on-campus interview. I immediately interviewed with two employees then was asked to go to the main office to interview with a partner. The whole process was fairly straightforward and didn't required any particular skill. It seemed to be more focused on your ability to analyze a problem and make sense of it.
Interview Question – You have a customer who presents a problem to you. Present your plan of attack and explain the way you approach the problem. View Answer
Intern Interview (Positive Experience; Easy Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – On-campus interview with two different Deloitte professionals - each interview was roughly 30 minutes. Overall, the interviews were pretty easy and casual. Would have had an offer, but was "too young" based on how many college credit hours I had.
Interview Question – Give an example of a time you worked with a difficult person and how you handled the situation. Answer Question
Summer Leadership Program Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Deloitte.
Interview Details – The interview has two rounds. The first round is on campus and the second round is in house. Both are one-on-one behavioral interviews. Interviewer had a list of questions to ask, but basically covering everything on the resume.
Interview Question – Ask me a research-related experience Answer Question
Tax Associate Interview (Neutral Experience)
Interviewed at Deloitte
Interview Details – OCI to screener interview. but they sent a Manager from valuation who didn't care too much about the interview process. He made the process a little awkward for some people because he asked really odd questions for law students. My experience was a little better, but as I said below, our OCI didn't yield any call backs.
Interview Question – It wasn't too difficult, mostly a conversation. Answer Question
Senior Manager Interview (Negative Experience; Average Interview)
I applied through a recruiter and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Deloitte in June 2014.
Interview Details – By applying on-line and filling out the Deloitte-taleo database I had a first call with the responsible recruiter. After one week an interview was scheduled with a senior manager at Deloitte after being selected by the recruiting department. However, the interviewer was not prepared for the particular job listing.
Interview Question – None. Questions about background and experience. Furthermore questions were asked about what you expect from the position. View Answer
