I applied through college or university and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Deloitte.

Interview Details – On-campus interview was 30 minutes. The on-site interview was an one-hour interview. I spent 30 minutes with each interviewer. Behaviorial questions. The questions focused more on who you are. Both partner and director are very nice.

Interview Question – What's your opinion about ethical issue?   Answer Question

Project Controller Interview

Project Controller

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte.

Interview Details – I was a referral and the first interview was simply the recruiter making sure I was a good fit and understood the role. That was followed by a staff level interview that went well and was a get to know you kind of conversation. Questions were quite limited on that call and we talked a bit more about what my work preferences were and my experience including experience with different tools.
The third interview was a round of 3 interviews in one day. One interview was with a manager and the last two with 2 different senior managers from the practice. For the most part those questions were behavioral questions but the last interview was a case study. Talked about different ways I would handle situations of managing client work. Tough last interview but got the offer.

Interview Question – Case -study. The interviewer was intense.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Not too rough. They knew what they wanted to pay.

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte.

Interview Details – HR communication process is good, but the company interview expense reimbursement is REALLY cheap.
The expense report clearly stated that the meals are reimbursed if the company has not paid for the expense. However, my final check was revised down not including the meals expense and i had to drive 2 hours outside of my home address. (close to 4 hrs round trip).

Project Controller Interview

Project Controller

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in February 2014.

Interview Details – My first interview was with a Deloitte recruiter who asked me to walk him through my resume - very general. The second interview was with a current Senior Project Controller who asked me some Excel/Basic financial questions. The next was in-person with three senior managers who ask standard interview questions and also a case study portion (see below). It was not as intimidating as I would have assumed for Deloitte.

Interview Question – You will have a case portion - but not like McKinsey or Google type questions where they ask you "how many trash cans are in New York City?" These questions will make you act like a Project Manager and ask your opinion when issues arise. For example: How would you cut costs? Make sure you know how to calculate project margin as well.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Did not negotiate since salary is great for a salary starting. Benefits can't be beat.

Project Controller Intern Interview

Project Controller Intern

Interviewed at Deloitte

Interview Details – Two step interview process. First step of the interview was part technical and behavior. The technical part was mostly based on Microsoft office and the behavioral part were your typical behavioral questions. The Second step was a case interview followed up with another behavior interview. Overall the process was great and all of the people I met at Deloitte were very nice and welcoming.

Interview Question – At the beginning of my behaviorally interview I was asked to describe myself and right as a finished the interviewer said "Tell me who you really are" - it threw me off completely   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Didn't negotiate, the initial offer was better than I was expecting.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2013.

Interview Details – The process is very friendly and straightforward. I was referred to Deloitte by a personal friend who also works at Deloitte, contacted by a recruiter for the position, and then we set up an initial phone interview within a couple days of that first e-mail exchange. After that phone interview, where we just went over my resume and basically it's applicability to the job, I was told I would be recommended for a second "technical" phone interview with someone from the group at a level higher than the one I was applying for. I had that phone interview a couple days later and we also mostly just discussed my resume and some soft-skills type questions about time-management and delegation, for example. Both phone calls were very laid back and low stress. A few days after that (could've been even a week or so), I heard back from my original recruiter (who did the first phone interview) and she said I was going to be invited into the office for in-office interviews. It took a while to get the official invitation from another HR representative (1-2 weeks) and then I was scheduled to come into the office about 2 weeks after that. I had three in-office interviews: 1) a fit interview (same as the phone interviews, basically), 2) a 'financial' interview (where I also talked mostly about my resume and past experiences), and 3) a case interview. I will say that I read a text book on case interviews cover-to-cover, practiced at least 50 different cases, and put in a total of close to 30 hours of studying for this case interview - and it was 30 hours too much. I didn't really get a case in the true sense of the word but was given a very general scenario and asked how I would (or have in the past) handle it. Everyone I talked to was very friendly, approachable, and I felt completely comfortable. I heard back within one week with an email saying that the team was preparing an offer and I got the actual offer another week later (so probably two weeks after my interviews).

Interview Question – There really weren't any difficult questions. It was one of the best interview experiences I have ever had!   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiations. I had read on here that most people who tried to negotiate were turned down so I had a plan in my mind and as long as they met that plan, I was on board (and they did).
