AERS Advisory Consultant (Technology Risk) Interview

    Application Details

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2013.

    Interview Details

I got the first round interview through on-campus recruiting. My first round interview was on phone with a manager. Basically, he asked me questions based on my resume and ended the interview with "Do you have any questions for me?"
After that, I was informed that I was invited for the second (on-site) round interview. We had pre-night at the night before interview. It was at a good restaurant and food were pre-ordered. I interviewed with one director and one manager. All the questions were behavior questions and resume questions. Then a group of candidates(3-4) had lunch with greeter (usually an entry-level employee). After lunch, the greeter showed the Deloitte office to candidates and end the day.

    Application Details

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in November 2011.

    Interview Details

I had two on-campus interviews and three onsite interviews. They were all behavioral based interviews. Basically, they just want to know if you are a fit for the firm and if they would like working with you. There were no case interviews, because Advisory (or ERS) doesn't really do any consulting, it's mostly a fancy way to say IT audit.

At Deloitte, you cannot negotiate anything. Take it or leave it. They have lots of people that can fit your spot, so you don't have any power to negotiate.

    Application Details

I applied through an employee referral - interviewed at Deloitte in February 2013.

    Interview Details

I got an employee referral through someone I work with. I got a call from HR a week after that. Set up a phone interview about 1-2 weeks after that. Got invited to go to a 2-day office visit after about 3-4 weeks. Got flown into DC and had dinner with some associates and other canidates. The next day we sat through a presentation about why we want to work with Deloitte. After that we had two interviews, one with a partner and one with a senior manager. The partner was mostly concerned with what kind of corporate culture that I would work best in to see if I was a good fit. The senior manager mostly talked about my experiences in my resume (I had 2 years of internship experience, so it took up most of the time).

    Interview Questions

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Washington, DC
    Application Details

The process took a day - interviewed at Deloitte in May 2010.

    Interview Details

Phone Interview: 15 minute phone screen. Why are you leaving your current job? What are your goals? What projects do you want to work on? Fill them in on your background and what your related experience is? What is your salary range?

1:1 Interview: 3 interviews in office. The interview process was outstanding. The people are all very friendly and organized and the communication with my recruiter was consistent. Very quick turnaround. Interviewers asked about my background and goals. Asked me technical questions about internal audit experience and federal government consulting. Pretty laid back interviews in general.

Although I was very impressed by the company and the recruitment process (it was the smoothest) the compensation was the lowest offer of my three.

    Junior IT Risk Consultant Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate  in  Luxembourg (Luxembourg)

    Application Details

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte.

    Interview Details

The very first contact was made by e-mail, 3 days after posting my CV and cover letter. An initial phone interview was appointed with one of the HR managers. The interview lasted approx. 45 minutes and consisted of standard questions: Tell me about yourself; Why Deloitte?, etc.
Having successfully completed this stage, the HR department contacted me the next of my interview and appointed two other interviews with managers and a senior manager. The interview featured a small case study. Both of the interviews together lasted 3 hours.
Then finally , after a waiting period of one and a half week, I was contacted again, this time for an interview with one of the partners. The interview was very short, and was basically an initial job offer, followed by an e-mail confirming Deloitte's interest in recruiting me.
The overall impression from all of the interviews was great, they were all very dynamic and more similar to a friendly dialogue than to standard interviews.

    Interview Questions
    • Probably the case study, I had 10 minutes to read it and to prepare my answer to 2 of the questions of the case study, which was not particularly hard.   View Answers (2)
