Senior Consultant Interview

Senior Consultant
Philadelphia, PA

I applied through college or university and interviewed at Deloitte.

Interview Details – First round interview in Philadelphia office.

Interview process is decently different enough from other major consulting firms (i.e. McKinsey, Bain and BCG) that I'll mostly highlight them here. When I arrived in the office they did not give me a description of the people I was meeting with that day. The first interview was one for fit. They seemed to care *a lot* more about the Why Deloitte? question than any other aspect of the interview. Other quesitons were basically normal.

The second interview is a normal case format.

Hope this helps!

Evan

Interview Question – They asked several versions of the "Why Deloitte?" question. Make sure you know what makes the firm stand in both among consulting firms and in your mind.   Answer Question

I applied through college or university and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2012.

Interview Details – It is a on campus interview. Questions are mostly based on my resume. Some technical questions, for example, how do you value a company? How do you calculate WACC?

Other questions like, what do you think is your strengh and weakness? Use your example to show how to be a leader and a team member.

He also asked about my course which he is very interested.

He really asked about a lot of details.

Interview Question – What do you think is the most important when working with clients?   Answer Question

Very Easy Interview

IT Project Manager Interview

IT Project Manager
Glen Mills, PA

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 5 weeks - interviewed at Deloitte in October 2012.

Interview Details – Was floating through the interview when I interviewed with a Sr. Manager that was taking a call with her partner while interviewing me. This was extremely odd! The feedback was that I said Warehousing, Logistics and Supply Chain too many times. I never alluded to these areas. Pathetic.

Interview Question – No questions asked. Sr. Manager was taking a con call with their partner and interviewing me at the same time. Weird.   View Answer

Interview Details – Got the call through my University. The first round included a case interview and a behavioral interview. I did really bad at the case interview and almost knew I was out. The interviewer prompted me with answers. Both interviewers were really nice. Was told on the same evening that I did not make it to the second round.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Deloitte in May 2007.

Interview Details – Interview was with two separate managers - no HR staff. Kind of a good-cop-bad-cop routine. First interview was qualitative and behavioral - what are your goals, how do you view yourself, etc. Second interview was quantitative and technical analysis - included 1 case study. 2nd interview was certainly less friendly, and more difficult. I would recommend brushing up on case study skills for an interview with Deloitte.

Interview Question – Case study regarding a manufacturing firm - required analysis of a problem they were encountering.   View Answer
