    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeksinterviewed at Deloitte (San Francisco, CA) in November 2014.

    Interview

Apply thorough campus recruiting, there are two rounds interview. Campus interview and on-site. I apply across states, so they even relocated me far from east coast to west coast. Sooooooo touched. Feeling very lucky.

Interviewers are nice and casual, very friendly and knowledgeable. I got 3 interviewers in the second round interview at office. Before the official interview they organized pre-interview nite for candidates and PPD, mngr to mingle around, which made me nervous but actually turned out to be a good chance to know each other.

Interview is a well prepared performance, show our passion, enthusiasm, let them know we are smart, fit and good at communication then we will be fine! Remember to smile all the time! Be likable and be yourself!

    Interview Questions

    • On campus interview:
Tell me more about your self. How does that transition go (since I have my undergrads outside of the US. ) How about your summer internship? How about your published paper?(I mentioned that on my resume) How did you get your summer internship since you are not in that area.

      On site interview 1:
1 tell me about yourself. (I almost recite my answer, but got interrupted by interviewer politely, then I answered his question and finished my introduction briefly)
2 Why here? not the location near your school?
      3 why tax?
4 what is your favorite class in school?
almost go through my resume and asked several question regarding my prior experience.

      On site interview 2:
      1 why here?
      2 why tax?
3 summer internship: what did you learn? which part is most memorable?
4 resume q: what is the hardest part of your internship at xxx company? what is toastmaster? what other campus activity do you do?
5 why did you choose your school?

      On site interview 3:
      1 why here?
      2 why tax?
3 how about your excel skills? ( I presented my reference from my previous mngr)
4 the only tricky question: why do you think those executives care about tax? ( I thought I missed it, the answer is profit, but I talked a lot nonsense:)

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Deloitte (San Francisco, CA) in September 2014.

    Interview

Applied through campus career center. Was invited to first round which was standard 30 min behavioral and 30 minute case. Case was about an expanding retail company consolidating HR & brand (surprisingly not an m&a case). Second round (Blitz) was unique for me because I was studying abroad so I interviewed through Skype (one more case and one more behavioral). Overall process is very smooth and straightforward, and everyone in the process was very cool and easy to talk with. Also your assigned 'buddy' is extremely helpful-definitely utilize them and do not be afraid to ask questions!

    Interview

I spent dozens of hours meeting with as many people as possible at the firm. I was already firm friends with several people at the director and partner level. Being personable and passionate about the industry is critical for them. Also, be able to tie in why the company's culture attracts you. They will ask you all about your academic background and work experience, but if you have the interview they already like what they see. Communicating effectively is key here.
