I applied through college or university and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Deutsche Bank in February 2010.
Interview Details – Generally inline with most of the investment banking recruiting process - company will have a campus visit where you are able to connect with associates/VPs/MDs. 1st round interviews occur late fall and mine was one 45min session with an associate and a director together. Questions were general, behavioral and finance related: why are switching careers? why banking? why DB? who else are you interviewing with? What are your three biggest strengths and weaknesses. etc. Technical questions focused on valuing a technology startup (was interviewing for the DB SF office) - you should walk them through your thought process and consider the most appropriate valuation metric.
Interview Question – Are technology firms generally valued using a forward or trailing PE? (not really that difficult) View Answer
Negotiation Details – it was a summer internship so I did not negotiate. DB provided a nice moving bonus however.
