Very Easy Interview
Cashier/Keyholder Interview (Negative Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Dollar General in December 2013.
Interview Details – Got a phone call, set up an interview, went to interview in dirty unorganized office. Two people were asking questions, and writing answers. Very informal, somewhat unprofessional. The two people were the Manager and Assistant Manager, they did alot of complaining about the company, (this should of been my first red flag to run), The only questions asked were about my availability ie: when can you work, can you work if called in, can you work holidays, can you work later if needed, can you come in early if needed,
Interview Question – n/a Answer Question
Negotiation Details – no negotiations. Advise to anyone applying, don't do it, unless you are homeless, starving, desperately need the money, don't do it.
Cashier/Keyholder Interview (Neutral Experience; Average Interview)
I applied in-person and the process took a day - interviewed at Dollar General.
Interview Details – Assistant Mgr knew me and referred my application and had Mgr to give me a call to come in immediately for an interview. After interview, was called and offered Keyholder position oppose the original offer of just cashier.
Interview Question – Being asked about how involved am I with my children's activities to warrant availability for work. I didn't think that was an allowed question and felt pressured to answer vaguely for satisfaction of obtaining job. Answer Question
Very Easy Interview
Third Keyholder Interview (Positive Experience; Very Easy Interview)
I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Dollar General.
Interview Details – It was a very informal interview. I got a call in the morning to come in that afternoon. The store is not yet open, but set-up starts next week. By the end of the interview, which was just her letting me know about the company, policies, and pay, I was told I had the job. To make sure to take the drug test within 48 hours. There wasn't any real questions at all.
