Diversified Tax Staff Interview

Diversified Tax Staff

I applied online and the process took 3 months - interviewed at EY.

Interview Details – Applied through school career website. I also heavily networked with former students from my school who now work at EY. The recruiter called to ask some general interview questions regarding my resume over the phone, and then scheduled an office visit. During my office visit, I had two interviews: one with a partner and the other with a senior manager. After my interviews I had lunch with a few people who are part of the tax staff. Everything was very comfortable and casual.

Interview Question – The interviews were very conversational in nature and didn't require much technical thought. They mostly just wanted to hear about my experiences on my resume. The only real question I had to answer was about how I've handled working with a group member that wasn't pulling his weight. My advice would be worry less about what they'll ask you and focus more on good questions that you can ask them as they seemed very impressed by my inquiries.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation, which was fine because salary and benefits were actually much more than expected.

Administrative Staff Interview

Administrative Staff

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at EY in April 2013.

Interview Details – I applied online through their website. A month later, they responded by email requesting to set up a phone interview. I had a phone interview the following week that lasted about a half hour, and a day or two after that, I was contacted to set up an in-person interview. That interview went well, and then I was scheduled for a video conference interview the following week. Both interviews were pretty standard. No tricks or surprises. I knew my skill set, and their needs matched my talents. All interviewers were polite and friendly, and everyone seemed happy with the firm.

Interview Question – The questions were all very standard for the role. No surprises.   Answer Question

Assurance Staff Interview

Los Angeles, CA

I interviewed at EY in March 2012.

Interview Details – Do not be nervous. Most questions are behavioral questions from your past jobs. If you had any previous jobs or internships, be prepared with themes like difficult situations you had to handle, what you learned from the job etc. Don't try to memorize anything. Just listen to the questions and answer naturally.

Interview Question – Not much of difficult question. I did not answer well the "why I wanted the position". Silly mistake, be prepared.   Answer Question

The first was a behavioral interview, the second a case study, and the third was an interview with the Partner. The interview process is not bad at all.

I applied through college or university - interviewed at EY in January 2013.

These firms are throwing out internships and jobs like candy to those with good grades and social skills.

Interview Question – What are your two greatest strengths and two greatest weaknesses?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – No negotiating. Take or leave it straight out of college.

I applied through college or university and interviewed at EY.

Interview Details – I went through recruitment from college that involved several steps. First there was a networking meet & greet followed by two separate interviews. The first interview was one on one while the second one was with a senior associate and a manager at the firm. Overall not too bad of an interviewing process.

Interview Question – What are some of your weaknesses and how do you think EY can help improve on them?   Answer Question
