I applied online. The process took 5 months - interviewed at EY.

    Interview Details

I applied online through the company's website and was contacted by an internal recruiter for a phone interview. The phone interview was about 30 minutes and involved review of background to ensure my background matched the job specifications. My next interview was a month later with a Partner. About 2 months later I met with Senior Manager and a week later, I met with another Partner. Prior to interview with Partner, there was a background check. No offer was extended.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days - interviewed at EY.

    Interview Details

I applied through my career website and got a call from HR and scheduled an interview for the next day which was kind of fast. I then had a 45 minute behavioral interview that covered a range of topics like leadership, strengths weaknesses, etc. The interviewer was very very nice and I was very comfortable having a conversation with him. After my interview, I had a timed writing assessment.

    Technology Advisor Program Interview

I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks - interviewed at EY in December 2012.

    Interview Details

Got the initial interview through university recruiting? I think, not entirely sure. Phone interview is 30 minutes. Two weeks later, heard back and was asked to do a writing assessment. I think this was the "2nd round." A few weeks later was invited to a Super Day. First there's a presentation about the company and the program. Then there are 3 interviews: 2 behavioral, 1 case study. You will DEFINITELY interview with someone (if not all) of significance. My first interview was with a partner and I completely ruined it. 2nd interview and 3rd interview (case study) went well. Greeters are young/recent grads. Extremely friendly, they bring you to eat after all the interviews.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at EY in November 2012.

    Interview Details

My first round of interview was on-campus. It was a one-on-one interview with one of the senior partners of EY. Later that week, I got a call for my onsite interview. But it had to be postponed due to the snowstorm sandy and it got scheduled for the 3rd of nov. There were totally 3 rounds. My first round was a case interview. It went pretty well but I did not answer the last question. My second and third were behavioral rounds.

    Valuation Advisory Summer Internship Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks - interviewed at EY in November 2012.

    Interview Details

I went through a referral from one of the partners at the firm for the New York office. I received the interview through a phone call. Prior to this, I had one of the campus recruiters tell me that my resume was more for banking and said that I should look else where. That was really unprofessional. Secondly, on the day of my initial interview, the interviewer did not show up. He also did not send me an email apologizing for missing the email. I had to email HR to let them know that he missed the interview. We then rescheduled the interview and he was totally not helpful what so ever. The interview did not go well, he did not even apologize for missing the prior date. After the interview , I waited patiently to hear back from EY. I did not even get a response from them. Sad organization and process overall. Would not recommend them.

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at EY in October 2012.

    Interview Details

30 minute 1st Round Interview on Campus with an alumnus of my university. Was supposed to be largely behavioral, but once I started asking questions about the structured product he works with, it got more technical.

2nd Round- 3 interviews (2 behavioral, 1 case study) in office
The 1st behavioral was with someone who had been at the comapny for 3 months, so that was an interesting perspective. He had a highly varied background before joining as a consultant. All behavioral and questions about myself/resume.

2nd Interview was a case study. It was formatted in a weird way. They gave us the case (3 pages, and no data whatsoever, just a story), and we read it, took notes and then roleplayed as consultant (me) and client (EY professional). Perhaps the case was weird, the interviewer was weird, or I wasn't getting it, but based on interviewer reactions and other student testimonials, it is not hard to do well

3rd Interview- Almost all fit questions about becoming a consultant. Much more consulting oriented than the finance focus that campus recruiters had pitched to us. Hardest interview, largely because I didn't know what to expect and interviewer was keen to dig at that.

    Interview Questions
    • 3rd Interview:

"So I have a client. And based on some new regulation, his compliance department has to start putting out [insert trade resolution document here]. But the people, led by their compliance officer, don't want to intergrate this into their process. So right now the lawyers and our team are prepping them to be compliant when the rule is phased in, but how do I fix this problem:"

On Campus interview followed by a super day at the company. I was interviewed by 2 managers and later on they invited us for lunch with other candidates. People are very nice. Just make sure you remember the names of the interviewers and to ask questions that are specific to the position you are interviewing for.
