    Application

I applied through an employee referral – interviewed at Echo Global Logistics.

    Interview

I was referred to Echo by a friend of an employee. I applied online and was immediately asked to set up a phone interview. After passing the initial phone screening, I was informed that the VP of Sales was in town from Chicago and they wanted me to schedule a time to come in. After meeting with him and going over my experience, I received a call from him on his personal phone, asked me why I would want this position if my background was more "Analytical." I responded questioning his career path, since he was a German major (Ballsy at the time)? After allowing him to answer the question, I said that I was interested in a career change and if he gave me a shot, I would be able to bring my analytical skills to a table, providing a cross-functional approach to a career in Logistic and Logistic Sales. At the time, it was the midst of the Great Recession and jobs were scarce so I was open for anything.

    Interview

Very relaxed - they want to make sure you are able to hold a normal conversation. It is not an easy job so they actually try to scare you away. They don't want anyone coming in who doesn't know what they'll be up against.

I applied through college or university – interviewed at Echo Global Logistics.

    Interview

First I met with a recruiter on campus and they followed up with a phone interview. The HR recruiter is educated and well-mannered but when I got to their Dallas office I got to see a different side of the company. The place was messy (i.e. trash cans overflowing, interviewing table had old food on it, kind of depressing sight in general), the sales managers who interviewed me were wearing wrinkled t-shirts, jeans, and had a general "disheveled" appearance about them. It seemed as though they were doing me the favor of interviewing me as it sounded like they were reading off of a script and payed no interest to my responses.

I'm glad I went to this interview because it will serve as good experience for a company I do NOT want to work for. I know I'm fresh out of college but I have more worth than working at Echo Global.

Thank you for coming to visit the Dallas office! We often like to reward our employees with things like free breakfast tacos and Potbelly or pizza for lunch. Sadly, buying food for 70 people means ... More

Ask you all the basic strength and weakness questions, where do you see yourself in 10 years, why are you a good fit etc. You go through a recruiter who reads her questions off a paper and then you talk to the branch manager (who is awesome) and then you talk to some of the supervisors and they interview you together. After that I waited two weeks to receive a call from the recruiter asking me if I was still interested.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Echo Global Logistics (Dallas, TX) in December 2014.

    Interview

The hiring process was extremely easy. I submitted my resume at my university career fair, and I had a phone interview the following Monday. During the phone interview the recruiter outlined all the details of the job, and she was also able to answer all the questions that I had. My office interview was the best I have had so far. I was able to meet all of the branch management and also a top tenured Sales Rep. They also gave me the opportunity to do a job shadow, which lasted about an hour.

    Interview Questions

    • The questions were pretty straightforward, and very fair. All of the questions asked were tailored to someone who has just graduated college. So, I felt very comfortable and was able to provide good and honest answers.   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Echo Global Logistics.

    Interview

I had a phone interview that seemed to go very well. The recruiter then scheduled an interview with a branch manager as well as a sales supervisor. Everything went very well. I finally had to make contact with the company to follow up. They sent a huge on boarding packet to me via email and there was a lot of scanning and returning thing to HQ in Chicago. All benefits and 401k plans are handled via online portals that are incredibly difficult to navigate.

    Interview Questions

    • Managers will try to trip you up in the interview to see how you handle pressure. You will say one thing and they will twist it slightly to see if you just let it slide or if you correct them to make sure your point was taken properly and validated.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Definitely try and negotiate. From my experience they will try to dupe you for as little money as possible, but you can easily get an extra $5,000 grand by negotiating.

    Interview

They have for interviews. They ask you the same thing in each one so they should have knocked it out at once. Once the girl i was supposed to interview with didn't show up so i had to go back a third time which wasn't fair to me. The people are nice though. I interviewed for enterprise and they hired me for regular so I didn't meet the people I would be working with.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Echo Global Logistics (Chicago, IL) in August 2014.

    Interview

First comes the phone interview, which I believe is the most important interview as it will determine whether you get invited to come to the office for an official interview. First you are asked questions of why you are interested in the position, what is your competitive background and what makes you stand out, basic questions for a phone interview. Once you explain your history and what makes you stand out the interviewer will decide weather or not to invite you back.

    Interview Questions

    • Why are you the best candidate (more when they asked then the question itself, caught me a little off guard).   1 Answer

    Negotiation

    No negotiation, 35K + Commission.
