Senior Sales Representative Interview

Senior Sales Representative

Interviewed at Eli Lilly

Interview Details – Applied online. Emailed back by a recruiting agency to complete online questionnaire; I can't remember exactly, but it seemed like 100 behavioural questions. The next day, received a phone call from the recruiting agency who proceeded to ask some basic screening questions about resume and experience. A couple of days later received a request for a face to face interview with 2 district managers and trainer. Interview was at a hotel. The whole day was blocked out at the hotel for interviews, so lots of applicants. My interview only lasted 2 hours. Basic STAR questions. Then another one on one interview with hiring manager. Whole process was fast although I heard this is not always the case. I must've applied at the right time.

Interview Question – Last question was in 2 minutes how would you sell yourself to us?   Answer Question

Final interviews are with potential DSM for final approval. Most questions are in the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Be prepared with multiple stories you can reference throughout.

Interviewed at Eli Lilly

Interview Details – Long interview process - probably 6 or 7 rounds. Dinners, phone calls, references, etc. Before you go through the process, make sure that there are actual positions open. When they came to my college (and several others) they made multiple rounds of interviews but ended up not hiring anyone.

Sales Representative

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Eli Lilly.

Interview Details – Phone interview, Face-to-face panel interview(s), Face-to-face with hiring manager, ride along/face-to-face with a sales rep from prospective district. The interview process lasted almost two months. Sometimes there would be a week, or two, between communications with the company.

Interview Question – With absolutely no medical or science background, why should we even consider you?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No negotiation. Human Resources has a formula and bracket based on your past experience that is used to determine your salary. There might be a way to negotiate salary, but I am not aware of one with this company.

Specialty Sales Representative Interview

Specialty Sales Representative
Kansas City, MO

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Eli Lilly.

Interview Details – On-Line personality and compatability screening. If you fail this, you do not move on (even though a lot of great reps fail this!). Following this: Phone interview, panel interview (3 managers for 1 hour each, separately), then a final interview with a hiring manager who made a decision within a day.

Interview Question – What are your most profound weaknesses? (The intensity of the question and demand for an immediate answer were just high pressure)   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Took what I could as the industry was hot at the time
