Interview Details – The first round, the phone interview was informed around 2 weeks after our campus career fair. After the phone interview, it was a skills assessment test online. The final round is an onsite interview with one interview about previous project and a short HR interview.

Interview Details – First was a phone interview with a developer. He asked me to design an algorithm for solving a sudoku puzzle. After that was an online assessment with 4 parts: math, 2-minute timed math, new language learning, and coding exercises. Finally was the on-site interview, which consisted of an HR interview and a 20-minute presentation on a previous development project.

Interview Details – Shortly after submitting my application, I received an email requesting a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty laid back and lasted about 25-30 minutes. I spoke with a technical services employee. They asked basic questions about my resume and why I would be a good fit for Epic. They also asked about my experience with programming.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Epic.
Interview Details – After the initial communication there is a data capture sheet (educational information, including GPA and standardized test scores), followed by a phone interview, followed by testing (logic, mathematics, programming, and personality), followed by an all-day on-site interview with varying individuals (team leads, HR, team members). The tests can feel a little intense; the programming test can be written in code or pseudo-code (any language). The general atmosphere is relaxed, including low expectations of candidates' attire. The on-site interview has group and individual sessions. Individual interviews consist of the usual one-on-one Q&A and are conducted by a person from that role rather than by HR. The questions are largely situational, fishing for the usual communication style, assertiveness, confidence, creativity, plus other attributes like resiliance, judgement, adaptation, and process. Everyone is very nice and offer a lot of chances to ask questions. They like to show off the campus and pull you around to different buildings and rooms. As expected, the dead time between each step of the overall process is unnerving.

Interview Details – Applied online. Completed an online exam, followed by a phone interview, and was then invited on site for a formal interview. I had 3 skills exams which tested on basic math, reading comprehension, and logic & programming. The formal interview consisted of a technical and HR interview. All were fairly straightforward.

Interview Details –
I initially applied online and was contacted shortly after about taking the online assessments. This was a new experience as it was a proctored test whereby somebody watched me and my screen over webcam. I took the 2 minute Math Blast, Math, Logic (new programming language) as well as the Programming (wrote all in pseudocode).
After this initial assessment, I was contacted for a campus visit. Everything was set up and taken care for including hotel, flights and transportation around Madison. Went to dinner the night before with 2 other candidates and 2 current TS employees. Was an informal information session where we got to ask some questions about the next day, life at Epic and the job.
Spent the day on campus getting an overview of the company, their product, another informational session with a current TS, lunch with a different TS, a case study interviewing asking about how you'd prioritize certain actions, another SAT like Verbal assessment and a discussion with an HR representative. The whole thing was really informal and I left not feeling like I had a good chance to advocate for myself. Was contacted about a week later with an offer.

Interview Details –
I caught their attention when they came to my campus for an on-site career fair. Their phone interview wasn't too difficult either - there weren't any coding questions.
However, the more annoying part of their interview process came a little afterwards. Some of the few things that bothered me the most was that they wanted my high school GPA and my ACT / SAT score.... which wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't in college already.
Their online assessment wasn't any better either. The math portion of the online assessment made me feel even more insulted; it seemed to be annoying algebra or word questions people would ask middle schoolers.
However, once those were over, the on site interview was fantastic. They made me feel extremely welcome, and I can definitely tell it's one of the best places to work at.

Interview Details –
I originally applied as a software developer. I started the application process through a friend's referral. I was contacted with a email within days, asking me to send a resume and fill out some standard forms. I had a phone interview with one of the developers. The interview was not very formal and not technical. I was asked an open-ended question. It was most likely to see how I approach problems and not looking for any technical "right" answer.
I was invited to take an online proctored assessment. It consists of math, logic, and programming sections with multiple choice questions. Personally, I thought the math was very easy. The logic section was a little more mentally challenging. The programming section consist of learning a new language and applying the knowledge. There is also a coding section. It was slightly challenging. You can use any language, and possibly pseudo code.
I received a email a few days later inviting me for an interview. However, it was for the technical services position and not for software developer. This was probably because of my not-so-great performance on the coding section of the assessment and my deficient background in programming.
The hotel, flight, and all other expenses are covered, which is great. I had an enjoyable time the first night having dinner with two current Epic employees. The interview starts at 9 the next morning. First, it was a round of software demo. After which, the recruits (about 8) break up into individual interviews and activities. I had two 30 minute interviews. They were informal and probably mainly serve to provide me with information. I took another online assessment concerning logic. It was a little more difficult. After a 30 minute tour of the campus and lunch, I had a final interview with HR. It was the only "real" interview. There was nothing unexpected.

Reason for Declining –
I had a pleasant time in the interview process. The visit was great, the actual environment was nice. It was just like a college campus. I think about 70% of the employees are under 27 years old.
All the people I met were very nice. I think if I went there, I would have enjoyed it very much.
Ultimately, it came down to what I want to do in life. I originally applied as a software developer, and I still want to be a software developer. There are programs to help fund taking CS classes at the U Wisconsin Madison, but it will take time. I don't want to be stuck in a career that is not my first choice.
