Project Manager/Implementation Consultant at Epic

No Offer – Interviewed in Verona, WI – Reviewed Apr 4, 2013

Interview Details – Went through a long day's interview process: case study with one other interviewer, individual interview, several tests taken on the computer (programming/logic/math/english), did a 10 minute presentation. Overall, they take really good care of you, putting you in a nice, comfortable hotel the night before, reimbursing you for food spendings on your trip, and paying for your flight, but because they have the expenses to do so. The position is highly competitive and probably 1/10 get it, maybe less per group. Prepare to be put on the spot but be confident.

Interview Details – I was interviewed through campus recruiting. I had a short, pleasant phone interview--mainly about why I was interested in Epic, and a few questions about my resume. Then I took an online assessment, after which I had another phone interview. I then took a skills test.

Interview Question – Even though I was not applying for a programming position, I was asked questions about code.   Answer Question

No Offer – Interviewed in Madison, WI Oct 2012 – Reviewed Mar 8, 2013

Interview Details – The initial part of the interview process was quick. A recruiter contacted me, asked me to apply, then got back to me shortly after that to set up a skills assessment at a local site.

Skills Assessment (done locally and on-site)
Primarily consisted of logic questions, some specifically related to programming and others just puzzle solving.

Presentation
You get to talk about anything you want for 10 minutes, make sure you hit on something that is generally considered to be interesting and be ready to elaborate when necessary.

Group (2 applicants) Case Studies
This is pretty straightforward, though make sure you have several answers in the back of your mind if you have to respond after the other person you are interviewing with (you don't want to simply say "yeah, what they said."

Overall a good experience, though they did not pay much attention to my application when I stated I only would travel 10% time (expectation with this position is 60-80% travel, and 60+ hour workweeks). Seemed like a great company, try the chocolate cake!

Interview Question – Watch out for the 60 second paper test right at the end of the day (after meeting with an HR representative)! Your brain will be a bit tired by that point and they want to see how nimble you are at that point. The questions are not difficult, but they were unexpected.   Answer Question

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Verona, WI – Reviewed Mar 10, 2013

Interview Details – Interview process was long. I first submitted my resume and Rembrandt profile, then was asked to complete a phone interview, then I was asked back for an on-site interview with HR and skills tests, and finally I came back for a second on-site to give a presentation and complete several more interviews. Between each of the interviews I was contacted withing a few days, but it did take about 3 weeks for a decision after my final interview. Through each step of the process I felt as though the interviews were thorough, and they respected the skills and experience that I have.

Interview Question – If you were any aisle in the grocery store, which one would you be and why?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – The salary offer was generous.

Interview Details – Recruiter contacted me, filled out online application & personality assessment, heard back a few weeks later and had a phone interview. Took skills assessment and after that was told they would not be moving further with my application. The description of what the position entails didn't really match up with what was being tested, I felt.

Interview Question – The skills assessment was quite difficult   Answer Question

Interview Details – I talked to a recruiter at a College Campus Career Fair and was referred to apply online. Shortly after applying online, I was contacted to conduct a phone interview. The phone interview was very informal and went over very general information. Shortly after that, I was contacted to take the skills assessment. I took the skills assessment and did not feel too confident about. Ultimately, I did not get asked to continue the interview process. I believe that I did not perform well enough on the skills assessment test.

No Offer – Interviewed in Madison, WI Dec 2012 – Reviewed Feb 26, 2013

Interview Details – I used several different platforms to initiate communication with EPIC. I followed the company on LinkedIn, attended a recruiting session (on campus), and found a job posting that I applied to. The initial phone interview involved mostly behavioral questions to better understand my background and expectations of the role I was applying for. (This didn't feel like an interview. It was a pleasant conversation regarding my experiences and the company). Next, I was asked to complete an assessment at a campus testing center. This test consisted of several sections (logic, reading, and math I believe). After the assessment, I was contacted a week later for an on-site interview. EPIC has a lot of resources that go into their recruiting process. I must say that I enjoyed the whole process. They pay for flight, hotel, dinner, and transportation. They have an EPIC employee take you out to dinner in a group setting to learn about Madison. The interview process involved a tour of the campus, several 1 on 1 interviews with different people, a small case study, and a presentation on a topic of my choice. It was very clear from the interview that EPIC is very horizontally structured. The work environment is very transparent, and I would imagine that the work done is very collaborative in nature.

Interview Question – The interviews were segmented by topic: managerial, case study, and behavioral. I would say I was surprised by one question in the behavioral: "What are 5 things that you are NOT?"   Answer Question

Interview Details – The hardest aspect of the on site interview is the length. Get a good nights sleep beforehand and take advantage of the snacks.

The other reviews are really spot on with the questions, many being the exact same or very close in that if you prepare for the questions noted on glassdoor you will have an arsenal of experiences, strengths, weaknesses to draw upon.

Interview Question – They picked specific references and asked what they would personally say are your weaknesses   Answer Question
