Application Details

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Epic Systems Corporation in October 2010.

Interview Details

Online application with a initial test upon submission. Followed up promptly with email the next week to set up phone interview. Phone interview was 30 minutes with a current employee, not with HR - gave some perspective on their job role and how they like the company and working there. Then came onsite for the in person interview - it was a half-day long process with a pre-prepared presentation, group interview/overview of the role and additional testing and 1:1 interaction with HR.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a dayinterviewed at Epic Systems Corporation in August 2010.

Phone Interview followed by single day, multi part interview.
No dress code required, went for very business casual and fit right in.
For the presentation - be light hearted and engage them, as they looked bored to start.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at Epic Systems Corporation in July 2010.

    Interview Details

I initially applied online via Monster.com. A couple of weeks later, I received a phone call from a recruiter who scheduled a brief phone interview. For the initial phone interview, it consisted of basic bahavioral quesitons, why I was looking to move jobs, my experiences and education, all the standard stuff. The next step was for me to go to a testing center to take two assessments: The first was a language assessment ot test reading comprehension, grammar and style, The second assessment was basic programming problems. The point was not to see if you could program but if your reading comprehension was high enough that you could catch on to the basic gist of it...if you could be taught, so to speak. I even randomly guessed on the last few and apparently did well enough to be selected for a site visit to their headquarters in Madison.

I arrived late the night before due to Airline problems, so I was not able to join in the dinner with current employees. In the morning when I arrived (and the cab driver was telling us about how they have about a zillion candidates come through every day), I was given a group tour of their campuses (which are pretty cool, but could definitely do without the "StarWars and Space" themes. We were told ahead of time that we would have to give a 10 minute presentation to a small panel and that no computer assistance would be allowed. I made sure to pick a topic that I knew I could talk for 10 minutes without running out of things to say and that I could answer any and all questions. I also brought just some personal photos to go along, and to help the panel to visualize what I was talking about. They definitely seemed impressed.

There was also a situational assessment where I was given 10 minutes to study a work situation and then tell the interviewer how you would (behaviorally) go about solving this problem if it were your real-life siation. Stressing customer service and professionalism seemed to be the ticket. There was also a 1:1 interview, again behavioral in nature where you are given the leeway to emphasize your strenghts and weaknesses and why yould be a good fit. Etc.

    Reasons for Declining

Though the salary was excellent, especially if you were only coming out of undergrad ( I already have my MBA), I didn't feel like a cross-country move was going to be beneficial to me in a company where you are a number, not a name, and there is little to no chance for upward mobility. It's almost like a puppy mill for students out of college. I also wasn't sure how sound their corporate strategy could be only focusing on hospital and large clinic settings--they don't seem to have any vision beyond that and the owner of the company is really only accountable to herself and a limited number of shareholders.

It definitely was a bit awkward to be paraded around with maybe 100 candidates on the same day, especially since you aren't told that up front and the fact that they have to do so constantly should be a bit alarming.

The process began with an online personality test, after which I had a phone interview. I was invited to campus for a one-on-one interview, an overview of the software program, tour of the campus, etc. I was given three written tests (SAT style). A couple weeks later I was invited back to campus for a second interview, presentation, and several casual meetings with Epic employees. A week and an half later i was offered a position.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at Epic Systems Corporation in March 2010.

Pretty much like the others have said.

First, a phone interview, basically a preliminary vetting.

Then I was invited onsite to take a skills assessment. You're graded on both time and accuracy. It's basically a baby LSAT, so if you took that, you're in good shape.

Finally, there was a day-long interview where they also introduce you to the Epic campus and product. This is where you do a case study and make a presentation, and go through a series of 1:1 interviews.

I first had an on campus behavioral interview. After this interview, I was invited to an on-site interview in Madison. While there, I had a campus tour, an overview of the software, an overview of the position I was interviewing for, a one-on-one case interview for the position, a presentation, and a final interview with the HR person. Everyone was very nice and friendly throughout the process, and I felt like I learned a lot about what I would be doing at the company through their final round interview.

Interview wasn't too difficult, mostly questions about my experiences and why I was interested in the position. Asked my ACT/SAT score and whether I wanted to go to grad school. I think they wanted me to say no. I could relate well with the interviewer so it was very casual and not stressful. Made me even more interested! I have my skills assessment on-site coming up next.

I took the skills test. It was a 3 part exam with a reading, math, and skills part. It was an extremely analytical exam. The reading had a lot of analogy questions while the math part had a lot of questions that involved critical thinking skills. The last part involves learning a new computer programming software just to see how well you can follow directions.

The process took a dayinterviewed at Epic Systems Corporation in January 2010.

    Interview Details

Was approached through school Career center where I had posted my resume. After the phone interview, I was flown out to Madison for on-site interview. Full day of getting to know the company and interviewing with a variety of people. A lot of questions based on your personality rather than past job experience. I felt like they had already decided that I was competent and was deciding if I would fit in.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Epic Systems Corporation in August 2009.

    Interview Details

I applied online for a position as a Project Manager, although the website has very vague job descriptions (intentionally, an employee told me) and I wasn't sure if that was exactly the best fit for me. I'm from the Milwaukee area and I had heard some good things (as well as a lot of negative things) about the company, which is why, as a recent college grad, I applied. Also, Madison is a great city, and I'd love to live there.

After I submitted my application, I was contacted within a couple of days about taking an online personality test and setting up a phone interview. The interview was pretty easy--it lasted only about a half an hour and the woman I spoke with was very nice. The personality test was a little strange. I'm not sure if they turn down people based solely on their responses to it, but I hope they don't, because I don't think it could possibly give them much useful information about the applicant.

A few days after the phone interview, I was emailed and asked to set up an on-site interview. The facilities are very nice, although it is way further outside of Madison than I had expected. Everyone I spoke to was friendly. And very young. I was given a quick, very uninformative tour and a company overview. Then I met with an HR person and had a rather short interview. He pretty much only asked situational questions. I would say it went pretty well, but then again he was so enthusiastic about literally everything I said/life in general, it was kind of hard to tell. After the interview I took three self-proctored tests, which took a little less than two hours, and were kind of tricky but nothing terrible.

The whole place gave me a weird vibe, to be honest. And mostly, I decided I wasn't terribly interested in working at a place with such an insane turn over rate.
