Editor Interview

Editor

I applied through other source and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Euromoney.

Interview Details – Haphazard, chaotic, no proper procedures - it was mostly based on the approval or otherwise of the editor. So it was a very subjective interview. I had very much the impression that my skills were not being judged but my ability to make friends with the interviewer -- which is a sign of inexperience.

Interview Question – What salary would you expect   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – None. Offer made, offer accepted.

Reporter Interview

The process took 2 days - interviewed at Euromoney in October 2008.

Interview Details – It was a straightforward interview process - a little rushed on their part. They seemed to have just gotten sign off to hire someone and were scrambling to do so. Nonetheless, they were professional and asked insightful, probing questions that kept me on my feet.

Interview Question – Who is the one person you would most like to interview - that would be interesting to their target audience - and what would I ask them?   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – The starting pay was very low.

Sales Director Interview

Sales Director

The process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Euromoney in October 2010.

Interview Details – Really odd: Lots of interviewing about how I would manage a team and when I started the job the focus was all on my own personal sales.

Interview Question – Describe a failure in your career and what you did as a result or learned from it?   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Stick out for more money. Actually, they are such a terrible employer I would look for another company

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Euromoney in April 2010.

Interview Details – Applied for the job with CV and covering letter. Attended interview with prospective manager and told about role, questioned about previous academic/professional experience - nothing out of the ordinary. Then did a test involving calling workers who were playing roles in order to get information from them to write a brief articles.

Interview Question – Test involved getting information from workers at the company who were doing a role play. One person was a source within the organisation and the other an official spokesperson. Task involved weedling details from each of them in order to write a brief article.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – Other job offered at different company.
