I applied through college or university – interviewed at FTI Consulting (Chicago, IL) in October 2013.

    Interview

The interviewer asked a technical question about SQL in the first round interview, did not expect to answer that and answered it incorrectly. Make sure you prepare some basica SQL knowledge even they said the first round interview questions are all behavioral-based in the pre-night event.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at FTI Consulting.

    Interview

After the initial screening, I had to complete a case study before being brought in for 4 face to face interviews. I met with people the consultant level to a managing director and then had lunch with them as well as the other candidates.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at FTI Consulting (Chicago, IL) in June 2013.

    Interview

Phone call from in-house recruiter. I got an email and then they followed up with a call. I had applied online through their website. The recruiter was doing the typical phone screen to see if I basically had a pulse and could communicate. They were pleasant and I got the feeling they were doing a bunch of these in a row so it was pretty mechanical.

    Interview Questions

    • Mostly about my resume, ideal type of job, and salary. It was a phone screen so they were trying to see if I should come in for an interview. It was the basic questions that they could just get off my resume.   1 Answer

    Interview

Interviewed with four directors and managing directors. Very informal and mostly just wanted to see if we got along. Once passing that they brought me in for a written test.

I applied through college or university. The process took a weekinterviewed at FTI Consulting (San Francisco, CA).

    Interview

Brief on campus interview, asked if I was proficient in excel and to describe my prior work experiences. Interviewer was professional, though arrived late to my interview (likely stuck in traffic, frustrating none the less).

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at FTI Consulting.

    Interview

Two back-to-back 30 minute interviews, each with two consultants from the local branch (4 interviewers total). One interviewer was an analyst and the other was a senior consultant or director. All behavioral questions and really laid back interviewers. I felt very comfortable considering it was my first interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 daysinterviewed at FTI Consulting (Los Angeles, CA) in February 2013.

    Interview

FTI's website said first-round was behavioral/traditional interview questions only. My first-round was completely technicals - no behaviorals were asked. Honestly, it was my fault for not reviewing my technicals beforehand, but I was still disappointed that I was caught off-guard. I wish the interviewer at least tried to get to know me before he started throwing technicals at me.

Pros: “Autonomy was the deciding factor. Super. Day 1, was like being in the military. I suspect things have changed since I left, I don't hear much about them at all.” Full Review
