I applied through an employee referral. The process took a dayinterviewed at Fairchild Semiconductor in May 2014.

    Interview Details

The interview took almost three hours, each engineer asked for one hour followed by a presentation to their group. They asked many basic questions on analog circuits like non inverting amplifier, buck converter, amplifier design. Most of questions are not too difficult. They also looked at my resume and asked on projects that I have done, especially related to power management SOC.

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Fairchild Semiconductor in April 2014.

    Interview Details

Was called by HR to arrange 3 phone interviews. The calls were on time and the folks seemed prepared with questions and having read the resume. Later, I was invited to lunch with the VP and two director level managers. This lasted 2 hours and was a pretty casual conversation, discussing all kinds of non-technical issues. More behavioral questions. Then a followup interview on site with another director. Everyone seemed cordial and helpful

    Interview Questions
    • Really nothing very difficult. Standard fare like why do you want to leave your company, what are your strengths, etc.I did my homework getting ready for the interviews so it was pretty straight forward.   Answer Question

I applied online. The process took 5 daysinterviewed at Fairchild Semiconductor in August 2012.

    Interview Details

Started with a phone interview with a recruiter, it was straightforward and no technical questions. Afterwards, a technical phone interview was set up and the manager brought up op-amp questions mainly. The questions about op-amps are extremely technical and you have to know everything including each part of the op-amp and why they work as they do.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Fairchild Semiconductor in May 2010.

    Interview Details

I applied online for this position. Few days later a received a call from HR asking for a phone interview. The phone interview panel consisted of the Hiring Manager and Lead Engineer. I was asked few technical questions and questions related to my background. The phone interview went well and I flew next week to Portland, Maine for an in person interview. The interview went on for 4-5 hours. I was asked a lot of basic electronics questions and questions related to my background. I was asked to demonstrate my hands on skills in the lab. At the end , HR asked me a series of behavioral questions. Unlike the phone interview, this did not go well and I was rejected two week later.
