    Customer Service Representative Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Olathe, KS) in July 2015.

    Interview

I sent my resume in and was contacted that day to take a test which took an hour. I passed the test and had a 0 gone interview two days later that lasted 45 min. Behavioral based. I was then given a face to face interview date with the "leadership" team. Human resources person, director (who had been with company less than ten years) manager and trainer. It was scheduled for 3 and a half weeks after the phone interview. The interview itself was 2 hours and a complete waste of time. It was me and two other candidates who had basically a smidgen of the experience I have in customer service and call center and education. They obviously want people who are barely qualified for the position. I was confident, excited, and enthusiastic during the interview. I got an email the next day saying that I hadn't been selected. I hate to think of who they did select.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter – interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Emeryville, CA) in April 2015.

    Interview

The interview process wasn't too terrible. I interviewed and all seemed to go well. I was told that I was being considered for two positions based on my experience. After it was all over, i was told that the hiring manager would contact me on a certain day, regardless of the decision. It's three weeks later and I haven't gotten any phone calls. The check in e-mail that i sent to the hiring manager has gone unanswered. I get it if they found a better candidate, it would just be very considerate of them to let me know.

    Regional Compliance Consultant Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Mercer Island, WA) in April 2015.

    Interview

It was a 2 week process. They responded to my application about 4 days later. The HR person was friendly and very professional. I received an interview with the hiring manager a short time later. She was thorough in her questions and the interview went well. She answered all my questions and provided good detail about the job. HR then proceeded to schedule an on-site interview at their Mercer Island office. I reserved a hotel room and train ride. They were willing to reimburse for the train ride and any taxi trips. I then received an unexpected phone call from HR - there was a meeting that day and it was decided that the position should be moved to Kansas. There would be no position in Seattle and I wouldn't be able to move to Kansas. They certainly raised my hopes for getting an on-site interview, so it was disappointing and unexpected. I'll think twice before I apply to positions at Farmers in the future. Eliminating a position right before an on-site interview in my opinion is unprofessional business conduct.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter – interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Emeryville, CA) in March 2015.

    Interview

I was called by a recruiter and informed they were interviewing for all types of positions. I was then told I could come in for an interview a few days later.I was told to dress professional when coming. When I arrived everyone was dressed in jeans and casual, then I was told it was casual Friday which is not the most professional if you have jeans on and your candidate is dressed in a suit. Then I was taken into the back office and basically it was a sales pitch on becoming a agent sat down was asked what I know about insurance, what I know about farmers and what I am looking for in a position. Then the farmers employee read off his computer powerpoint screen with an ipad for me to read along with. To me makes it a lot less impersonal when reading. the presentation was all towards sales and commissions and being an agent. Then came to talking bout if I was interested in working in the support area I would have to pass a background criminal and credit and how in depth it were and how I can't have anything on my credit like collections, just because I'm unemployed doesn't mean I don't pay bills. The interviewer made it a point to repeat himself with nothing in my background can be found in order to move forward. Also to be in any role with farmers you have to pass the license tests. At the end of supposed interview I was then asked if I was really serious about moving forward and if I was I would have to pay for my own criminal and credit background and my own credentials in order to even be considered for positions. Wouldn't recommend wasting your time unless you are willing to not be paid until your officially an agent and want to be a sales person.

BBI (behavioral based interview). They prefer that you use the STAR method which means you need to answer with a specific example of something you have gone through either in the workplace or in the classroom. You are not given many opportunities to boast any accolades so be prepared to drop your guard and give honest examples even if they make you look bad. It is important to address the action you took and the result.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6+ weeksinterviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Santa Rosa, CA) in February 2015.

    Interview

I went in 3 times, and passed the first two. The third time they gave me a list of 10 people to call. I called all and got even one person to go through a interview for their sales agent position. They were terribly disorganized. They never sent me a email to confirm the interview. They called me up 10 min before my third interview told me thr DM was sick (I got ready and drove their for no nothing.) And they told me they would call me back after the third interview to tell me the outcome but never did...go figure. This Santa Rosa office doe have their stuff together and the DM, is a snake.

    Interview

Recruiter seemed uninterested and had no personality. Hard to connect with - like I was talking to a wall. Not interactive probably because recruiter had no concept what the job entailed but I thought they were supposed to be a people person. Also clueless about the office where position was located. With a recruiter like this no way you're getting an offer. Makes me wonder if a position was really available - maybe they were just fishing!!! I probably would have a better interview process at a grocery store! Progressive Ins. gives the best interviews probably because that company is based on liking people.
