Director of Card Production Interview

Director of Card Production
Indianapolis, IN

I applied through other source and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Fiserv.

Interview Details – Corporate called me to set up an interview. Their corporate really didn't know much about the Indianapolis location. Had difficulty getting into the facility because they did tell me to be sure to bring my ID, which I should have had but did have to change before I went and forgot to put my billfold in my pants. Corporate set me up with the wrong contact. Met with 4 leaders. Felt like I exceeded their requirements. I followed up as professionally expected. They were not so professional with their whole process and follow-up in letting me know an outcome of the interview.

Interview Question – Why I left a previous employer. Stated I didn't like a militant management team. I don't believe they liked that response as the regional director may have managed this way.   View Answer

Senior Developer Interview

Senior Developer
Houston, TX

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Fiserv in March 2014.

Interview Details – This company by far the weirdest company, it seems that the hiring manager, HR personnel and recruiter don't communicate well with one another. recruiter tell me one thing, hiring manager told me another. even hiring manager told me one thing, next week she told me something else. On the first phone interview she told me it is 85% production support and only 15% development. A week later she called me back saying it is a missed understanding on my part. Then we moved on to next in-person interview with manager and 2 technical individuals. The technical individuals seem to expect candidate to know-it-all. stupid questions like these being asked frequently "What are the differences between MVC 2 and MVC 3.5?" I really want to go like this "MVC 3.5 is newer" LOL. They like to brag about how critical their work is, how sharp their people are, I thought it is kinda of amuse when the manager said "our people are pretty sharp, as the result other group keeps steal our people." What?? you loose people because you are an A__. How hard is is it to understand LOL. Anyway do some research on your own about what other people say about fiserv before you do decide if it is a right company for you..good luck!.

Interview Question – Well they expect you to know it all.   Answer Question

Human Resources Director Interview

Human Resources Director

Interviewed at Fiserv

Interview Details – Was asked in twice to interview, interviewed with 5-6 people each time. The same questions were asked of me over and over. Then I never received any feedback from them. If their hiring practices are any indication of how it is to work at this company, I would stay away.

Senior Analyst Interview

Senior Analyst

I applied online and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at Fiserv.

Interview Details – HR is pretty disorganized. Had an initial screening phone interview scheduled and the HR rep did not call at the agreed upon time. I received an email two days later that she got called into "emergency meetings" and that "blew up her schedule". She apologized and we re-scheduled.

After the initial phone screen they wanted me to do four more phone interviews with dept members and the hiring manager. I was emailed an itinerary late in the afternoon with 3 phone interviews setup for the next morning and the 4th the day after. I responded that due to the short notice, I needed to reschedule 1 of the 4 interviews. The first interview on the itinerary was set to occur at 10am the next morning. An HR rep called at 10:15 that we needed to re-schedule that entire day because I didn't confirm to her the previous day. Plus now they needed me to come into the office for 3 in person interviews, but we could still do the 4th over the phone. And they wanted to schedule these on-site interviews for the following day. I discussed with the HR rep several time frames that might work, but due to the short notice I needed to make sure I could get off work and she needed to confirm that the interviewers were available. i was under the impression we would touch base again to set the actual time. Instead the HR rep just scheduled me anyway and sent out an itinerary. I told her that the time she scheduled would not work and she became agitated and combative on the phone when I suggested we re-schedule for the following week. At this point I withdrew my name from consideration.

Human Resources Analyst Interview

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Fiserv in July 2013.

Interview Details – Had a 30 min phone screening, where I was then asked to come for an in-house interview that same day (approx. 3 hours later). At the in-house interview, I was belittled, insulted, and flat out disgusted by the personality of who would be my manager. I left the interview with a very sour taste in my mouth, and with no interest to work at Fiserv. No wonder the person I would have been replacing only last in the role for 2 months.

Interview Question – I was asked for my current company's EBITDA. Considering they are a private company, I felt ashamed I was even asked, considering I have no reason to provide it.   View Answer

Senior Customer Account Manager Interview

Senior Customer Account Manager

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Fiserv.

Interview Details – I had a phone interview for Sr Customer Account Manager with a person who had only 3 years of Account Management (within CashEdge) and during the phone interview, everything went well. He was very adamant about bringing me in to meet other Account Manager (with minimal years as well). I have over 10 years of experience as Sr. Account Manager.

The only fault he could find, was my minimal use of XML but said that would not matter because I could catch up within no time.

I met with the "3 others" and discussed what I could bring to the team. They "seemed" interested especially because of the history I can bring in.

The hiring manager then, after couple weeks had the recruiter send me the "rejection letter" since he couldn't do it himself.

Interview Question – During the phone and F2F, there wasn't a difficult question since we had discussed most of the during the phone interview.   Answer Question

Senior Business Systems Analyst Interview

Senior Business Systems Analyst
Frisco, TX

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Fiserv.

Interview Details – Initially the HR Rep called me to discuss the role, including details of the particular line of business that this role would be aligned to. In this case it was the online banking solution that they offer to Credit Unions. The team is located in the Frisco office.

After that phone call, an hour-long phone interview was scheduled with the Hiring Manager and 3 additional employees (in my case it had to be by phone as I was not as yet relocated to the area. It was a month before my official move). Two were Senior Business Systems Analysts and one was a Lead Business Systems Analyst. The first 30 minutes was just with the hiring manager and the second was with the 3 employees.

The interview was straightforward. They literally went line by line on my resume asking for examples of how I accomplish the items listed in my current role.

That said, a couple weeks passed, with no feedback or follow up from HR. I emailed asking for an update. They responded that they would check on the status of the position, however they never got back to me with an update.

Interview Question – Nothing was difficult or unexpected since all they did was go over the resume. Nothing behavioral was asked. Neither were there any technical questions.   Answer Question

Loan Department Interview

Loan Department

I applied online and the process took 4 months - interviewed at Fiserv in October 2012.

Interview Details – Applied to a position of interest and within my ability. I applied online and submitted my resume with references that included a contact at an affiliated division of the company. Not sure if that really made a difference. I received an email and a phone call to set up a phone interview. The interview was very structured, and obviously directed to be compliant with hiring standards. The interviewer was very cordial, informative about the company, the position and work location. He stated that the interview answers, resume and references are forwarded to the hiring manager for review. If skills match, the hiring manager would be in touch. I did receive an email with similar information. The only issue I had was that even after a follow-up email, and phone call by me, there was no contact. Things did change for me, so I called and emailed the recruiter stating that I would not be relocating to another state as originally planned. I figured that was all. However nearly 4 months later I received an email stating that they decided on a different candidate. So, not sure if that was a housekeeping issue, or they dropped the ball somewhere. Overall, I would apply with them again in the future. The people I dealt with over the years that work there seem to love it.

Interview Question – Reason for leaving previous employer.   Answer Question
