Hiring process is not proper, for freshers from college they dont come to recruit and for those who cant get employee referral it gets very difficult to get into fractal. They should change their hiring process for freshers.

    3 Rounds:

First 2 were technical, mostly resume based and basic stats concept check.
Easy to clear first two if you have full grasp on any interesting project done.
Also in the problem solving section they look for quite a out of the box thinking.

I couldnt clear the HR round as I was not prepared with the basic questions like where do you see yourself 5 years from now & long term career goals.

    Interview Questions
    • In the first round was asked couple of case studies related to the offered role sector, short ones just to check directional thought process.
In the second couple of puzzles were asked, think it aloud, if deviating the interviewer will hint to help you.
(Optional)Also be prepared to connect the dots throughout the professional career starting right away from the graduation days to have a clarity on long term career goals

This job i apply is not easy cuz it's all about how you handle the salary of the company and how to make it increase in a year. And that will not be short how to save the money for needed in the project. But this job i search for is that i don't need it but how to manage for it. I applied online. The process took 3 days - interviewed at Fractal Analytics in September 2011.

    Interview Details

I was called in during a recruitment drive at the Goregaon office. I reached at around 10:30 am and was told to go straight to a conference room where there were around 15 more candidates. The HR handed us the written test paper and gave us 30 mins time to solve it. Once she came back after grading the papers, the results were so consistent that the HR actually accused us of cheating! That is extremely unprofessional behavior in my opinion.

Once that was done I finally had my interview at 3 pm. Even between the 11-3, the same HR came in to the conference room eating lunch, taking personal calls, discussing other candidates in front of the shortlisted candidates in the conf. room. All in all I found this behavior extremely unprofessional.

Even during the interview, the interviewer constantly kept showing his superiority instead of actually assessing my skills. For e.g. Fractal does a lot of statistical analysis and modeling and I had worked on a statistical model in a one-month internship that I had done at some other place. The model was one of the many things I had worked on during that internship. When the interviewer asked me about the the model, I answered with everything I had studied and worked on. He kept asking me such detailed questions which only someone who has worked on those models day in and day out would know. And whenever I got stuck on a particular question, I saw a smirk on the interviewer's face. Even the other questions were completely unrelated. I was interviewing for a CPG position, and the interviewer kept asking me questions about financial statement analysis.

It was a very unprofessional and unpleasant experience for me.
