I interviewed through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks - interviewed at GE in March 2012.

Overall smooth process including screening, technical and face to face rounds. Don't take too long and keeps you updated online too. Recruiting staff was helpful. Technical interview mainly drilling you down on your engineering expertise and troubleshooting skills. Good interviewers and helps to understand required skills for the particular position.

They had a 3 part interview process. The first one with HR which is basic questions you will get everywhere. The technical interview consisted of mostly high level questions, not very specific. Also I will say it was centered around experiences more than random technical questions. The last is an on site interview confirming your fit with the company as well as a teaching session to determine your proficiency in conveying your technical knowledge to others.

I interviewed through college or university. The process took a day - interviewed at GE in August 2011.

Interview was mostly behavioral. Had an internship there over the summer and presented my key accomplishments, but interviewers were more interested in my definition of leadership and how I would solve potential conflicts.

Initial communication was great, the recruiter was persistent, then we interviewed and I had to keep following up for weeks before they told me the position was cancelled. Would have appreciated responses since I was told I would be brought in for an interview.

I interviewed through college or university. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at GE in March 2014.

    Interview Details

The company came to my school for first round interviews. The interviewer, who was from HR, was very friendly and informing about the position and the FMP program in general. The interview went smoothly but unfortunately it came across that I was more interested in banking (hence my preference for a GE Capital Placement). That being said, I was able to explain the difference between GE Capital and a traditional bank. Overall I do not feel that I was the candidate that GE was looking for for the FMP Program.

    Interview Questions
    • Considering that the interview was with HR, there were no technical questions. Questions included your typical fit questions that you can find in any interview guide.   Answer Question
