    Interview

Online application requires extensive personality assessment. Phone screening with HR to discuss resume and experiences. A few weeks later had a phone interview with hiring manager in nutrition department. Discussed experiences and qualifications for the position. Asked appropriate questions regarding the job details. Explained that the next step would be face to face interviews conducted in the next couple weeks. Did not get called back for the next round of interviews despite years of experience.

    Pharmacy Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 daysinterviewed at Giant Eagle (Columbus, OH) in July 2015.

    Interview

    1) Phone Interview with general questions 2) One on one interview with the pharmacy manager with some of the same questions Honestly, these interviews felt like a waste of my time. I was expecting them to be pharmacy based but they were super generalized. The questions were easy to answer since they are the typical retail/service industry questions. Iwas not offered a job because I did not have an open enough availability during the school year. The recruiter from the initial phone interview told me there was a 12 hour a month minimum (which I could definitely manage) but then the pharmacy manager told me he was looking for someone to work 4 days a week year round (which is next-to-impossible during the school year for me).

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Giant Eagle (Pittsburgh, PA) in May 2015.

    Interview

I had an initial phone screen interview with the Talent Acquisition representative in HR followed by an onsite interview schedule consisting of a series of three one hour interviews. Following that I had to complete a candidate assessment process consisting of a series of personality and aptitude assessment tests. I has allowed to take this from home via the internet and overall took 4+ hours. I found there to be a good bit of redundancy over the series of assessments. It was a turn off.

    Interview

I first met with recruiters at a job fair, and was invited to complete an interview later in the day. The interview was informal and short, and based on behavioral questions. The recruiter told me to apply for the position online and that I would hear back in a timely manner when they made a decision. They did not conduct further interviews.

    Programmer Analyst Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency – interviewed at Giant Eagle (Pittsburgh, PA) in February 2015.

    Interview

I had a 2 on 1 interview with a hiring manager and a senior software engineer in the same group as the position. Very standard Information Technology job interview questions. The place was a little disorganized--we had the interview in the office of a manager who was out that day as the hiring manager could not (or did not) book a conference room in advance. Also the group seemed to have a lot of turnover from some of the comments the manager made. The manager even admitted the role I was applying for "wasn't the greatest job ever." That was a first for me on an interview! Afterwards I wrote a thank you note and was given feedback that I "interviewed well" and was "in the running," and then never received any more feedback. Not even a rejection letter. Poor form, Giant Eagle.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7+ monthsinterviewed at Giant Eagle.

    Interview

Interview process was mediocre, but follow up was poor. No contact information was given at interview, and no follow up for over 5 months. Interview had a scheduled time and ran hours behind. Process seemed disorganized, but was with appropriate staff and some employees were consistent with their part of the process.

I applied online – interviewed at Giant Eagle in October 2014.

    Interview

Group interview "reservation" time set between 2-4 PM Sunday in downtown Cleveland. Upon arrival, was notified there would be no interview due to large turnout. Instructed to leave name and contact info for an interview at a nearby store at a future date. Received a $5 certificate for the Market District and a parking voucher that I did not use due to the lot being full. Did receive an e-mail the next day providing a new group interview time at a store location later in the week.
