Pharmacy Technician Interview

Pharmacy Technician
Pittsburgh, PA

I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Giant Eagle in February 2010.

Interview Details – I applied for several years before finally getting a call to set up an interview. I had a phone conversation/interview first, not long after I had an on site interview with a HR person. When that went well, an on site interview with the pharmacy manager was set up within a week. This was a lot less daunting than I expected. The manager was very nice and frienfly and the interview was rather relaxed.

Interview Question – Asked how you would handle various problems that come up when dealing with customers   Answer Question

Digital Marketing Interview

Digital Marketing
Pittsburgh, PA

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Giant Eagle.

Interview Details – Process seemed to be pretty standard. Phone interview, followed up an afternoon of multiple interviews, then followed up by a final set of interviews.

Interview Question – How much are you willing to work   View Answer

Reason for Declining – There was a distinct disconnect between the hiring manager and the HR Team. While the HR Team indicated that they were an employer of choice, especially when it come to home-work life balance I assumed that meant, that if I needed to work from home occasionally I could, or it I had an appt to get to it would be nor problem, as long as my work was being done. The Hiring Manager felt as if this job would require 50-60 hours a week at the office. I have no problem putting the hours in, I do currently, but some of that is done in my home office, so that i can have dinner with my family. When I brought this comment up to the HR director, she promptly indicated that's why they hadn't been able to hire anyone for the position, but she assured me that wasn't the case, I would have full support to WFH when needed, and they even had cube share (wasn't asking for that, but it was great to know that they supported it.) In the end I felt as if I didn't want to be the one that paved the way with this particular director, and decided it wasn't a good opportunity for me at the time.

Fuel Station Attendant Interview

Fuel Station Attendant
Seven Fields, PA

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Giant Eagle in December 2011.

Interview Details – Step one: Filled out application online through Giant Eagle's website.

Step two: Was contacted within a few days by a corporate recruitment representative who conducted a phone screening--real basic, predictable questions about past experience, customer service, etc. At the end of the call she asked to set up an in-person interview.

Step three/four: The in-person interview was conducted by both the recruitment rep and the store manager. In my instance both interviews were held back-to-back, but I know there were times when my manager was not always able to be there the same day as the recruiter's interview. Again, standard predictable questions about what you would do in various customer service situations and about your most and least challenging experiences at prior jobs. If he/she extends a job offer to you, you'll sign off for the background check and drug test, and as long as you pass those they'll call you within a few days of the offer to set up a group training workshop.

Interview Question – The recruiting rep and the store manager basically asked almost the exact same questions, so just keep your answers consistent and remember what you said to the first interviewer.   Answer Question

Customer Service Representative Interview

Customer Service Representative

I applied in-person and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Giant Eagle in November 2009.

Interview Details – Applied over the phone which took about 15 minutes. A few weeks later was called in for an interview. That lasted 15 minutes also. Called back a week later for a final interview which was short mostly asking if I was still available, a few more questions about food, then I was given employee paperwork to fill out.

Interview Question – I found it strange I was asked about my worst customer service moment rather than my best one.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – No real negotiation, was told around $8 per hour.
