I applied online. The process took 1+ weekinterviewed at Goldman Sachs.

    Interview Details

Applied online and received an e-mail to request an interview. The interviewer went to my same school, so was familiar with the programs and materials I talked about. He was quite nice, but hard to hear. Interviewer just let me talk for about 45 minutes about how I'd solve the problem. He guided me through it and we got to an answer.

    Interview Details

Submitted resume online. Received a follow-up email inviting me to a super day in New York. You receive a schedule when you walk in of the teams you are interviewing with. I was only slated to interview with one team. Unfortunately, the position had nothing to do with my qualifications. I studied Business Information Systems which focuses on higher level Java and C# and was asked questions that a computer science major could answer.

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Goldman Sachs in January 2014.

    Interview Details

I applied online through my school's career services. Had initial on-campus interview. Two days later I was called and informed that I was invited to the Salt Lake office for super day interviews.

After arriving in Salt Lake we were assigned first round morning interviews. I had 5 morning interviews with different teams (FI, FE, AIMS). They sent us to lunch and told us that if we passed the first round we would get a callback interview for the afternoon for whatever teams liked us. I received a callback for two separate teams on AIMS.

The afternoon interviews were viedoconference interviews with executives in NY. All questions were behavioral or market based. They only asked you about something technical if you brought it up in the conversation.

    Interview Questions
    • What is the difference between a mutual fund and a hedge fund?

What is a question that you wish I had asked you and how would you answer that question?

Got the first round phone interview. Very few fit questions, mostly technical. Hard interview. They were in New York but I expected them at Houston time so got an unexpected early phone call. I was very nervous and it didn't go well. Of course, didn't get into second round.
