The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Google.

Interview Details – Overall, I thought that the HR department at Google was very helpful and easy to work with. However, it seems that for APM they are still using Fermi Questions. Overall, I was not happy with my performance on the interview, but much of that has to do with not knowing what to prepare in the first place. It didn't seem like going over technical skills helped at all. The first round was a Fermi Question (below) and other questions like

I applied online and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Google in November 2013.

Interview Details – I was initially set up for a 45 minute phone interview that went really well and it consisted of some hypothetical questions regarding Youtube and how to make it a better system given certain scenarios. There was some cost benefit analyses as well as probability questions. We touched on some engineering concepts very generally such as recursion and machine learning.

I had my on-site interview in NYC and it consisted of three 1:1 interviews and a lunch with a present APM. Two of the interviews were testing my pm skills regarding a new service google would offer college students and another was regarding the costs of running GMail. The third was with a senior software engineer who tested me on graph algorithms and distributed systems.

One thing I would also say that Google's recruiters are really good with scheduling and just making sure everything runs smoothly. I would get really prompt responses --- probably the best experience i have had with recruiters.

I applied online and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Google in April 2009.

Interview Details – Applied online and had initial phone interview. After the phone interview, I was flown down to Mountain View to interview with a group of other new grads. I was the only person within the group that was not from an Ivy League school, and that came up during all my 1;1 interviews. I think they take it overly seriously there. I had about 4 1;1 meetings while down there, but really the whole day is one big cultural fit interview.
