Interview

During the interview, two interviewers asked performance based questions using a method titled as STAR. These questions namely focused on your past experiences. During this time, the two gentlemen write down your answers on paper looking for key words. Overall, the interviewers are not interviewing but rather reporting. There is no personal dialogue.

Interview Questions

  • The STAR method, in general, is lackluster and not focused toward actually discovering the true talents of the potential employee.   Answer Question

Reasons for Declining

Interview felt like they were looking for a warm body, not a person.

Easy interview. Enjoyed the process. Really casual and laid back lots of scenario based questions. Hard to find the entrance of the building. Great atmosphere. Interview

The hiring and interview process were fairly straightforward. The phone screening/interview was thorough, and left you with a good idea of whether you were a fit with the company. The two managers interviewing onsite were the typical contrasting pair, with one being "service" oriented and one being "sales" oriented. They gave a good picture of what the company was like.

    Interview Questions

    • They ask about gaps in employment, and look for unique things in your work experience that may help or hurt your future there.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There was no negotiation, the starting pay was pre-determined.

I applied online. The process took 4 daysinterviewed at Grand Canyon University in February 2013.

    Interview

Submitted application on a Monday night after business hours, and received a phone call the following morning by about 7:30am AZ time. Ended up doing an on-the-spot phone interview, and HR recruiter wanted to bring me in for an in-person interview that Friday. I was flying in from a different state, so it was rather expensive but I was looking at trying to get a job in AZ to join my husband who had already relcoated. Spent the first half an hour with the HR recruiter who asked me typical questions like tell me about yourself, why are you interested in working for GCU, what do you do when you don't have all the information you need, etc. The second half hour was spent with 2 hiring managers. They asked typical behavioral questions. I was still in the car after leaving the interview when they called me with the job offer.

    Interview Questions

    • Nothing was too difficult or unexpected - they were all behavioral questions so they wanted specific examples of situations where you went above and beyond, when you had to work with a difficult person, etc.   Answer Question

    • Explain a time when you had to resolve a difficult customer.   Answer Question
