Associate Marketing Manager Interview

Associate Marketing Manager

I applied through a recruiter and interviewed at Heinz.

Interview Details – the interview was more focused on potential and aspirations and not so much on past achievements. very different than other companies that hire only experienced professionals. good for college graduates who, don't have experience yet.

Interview Question – questions were easy and very standard as if right from college book on what ideal candidate would be. Made me wonder if any people would really chose the obviously incorrect answer in the screening process - I at least chose the ones that would make me look like a great employee willing to work non - stop to get the job done.   Answer Question

Sales/Marketing Temp Interview

Sales/Marketing Temp
Arlington Heights, IL

I applied through a staffing agency and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Heinz in March 2014.

Interview Details – Both the temp agency and Heinz themselves were very wishy washy on details and went back on their word once I started working as far as what is paid on expenses.

Interview Question – None was asked. Very generic interview.   View Answer

Reason for Declining – It did not sound appealing and not clear on details of the actual position. Then the temp company asked if I would like to give it a try and I accepted based solely that it is temporary and I could

Assistant Buyer Interview

Assistant Buyer
Pittsburgh, PA

I applied online and the process took 7 weeks - interviewed at Heinz in December 2013.

Interview Details – Phone interview with HR, then a phone interview with the direct manager. After that you were called in to interview with 4 people face to face. Some of the interviews happened at the open enviornment tables it was VERY weird to have other people listening to me interview.

Interview Question – Nothing out of the normal, it was actually a fairly simple interview.   Answer Question

Reason for Declining – I didnt feel it was a fair financial offer and all the negative reviews on glassdoor.

Corporate Management Trainee Interview

Corporate Management Trainee
Pittsburgh, PA

I applied through college or university and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at Heinz in November 2013.

Interview Details – I first did a short phone interview which was very standard and straight forward. Then, I was interviewed by an HR employee, where I was asked some basic interview questions and about my background. I also asked many questions to learn more about the company and the changes taking place. Finally, I was invited for a final interview at the world headquarters in Pittsburgh.

The main part of this final interview was a three minute presentation in front of the CEO and the executive team! All participants were required to talk about his or her background and why he or she would be a great fit for Heinz. The rest of the interview day consisted of a tour of the building and interactive Q&A sessions with Heinz employees. Within four days the HR team got back to me with a final decision!

I have never had such a positive interview experience before. I think the presentation in front of the CEO and executive team is extremely unique. It really shows that the leadership at Heinz is very invested in the Corporate Management Trainee Program. Additionally, I really appreciated how open and transparent the employees were at the Q&A sessions. It allowed me to get a high level overview of the company before I even began work at Heinz.

Negotiation Details – There is a standard salary for participants of the training program.

Corporate Management Trainee Interview

Corporate Management Trainee
Pittsburgh, PA

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Heinz in November 2013.

Interview Details – I was initially invited to apply to the program based on my GPA, after which I made my first contact at a career fair.

The next step was a short phone call screen - simple behavior questions.

I was then invited to interview on campus for what turned out to be my favorite and most memorable of the approximately 40 I had that semester. This is not your standard, pull prepared answers out of your pocket interview: Unique and intriguing questions, they sent out high up leaders to evaluate qualified candidates rather than general recruiters like most companies.

The final step was an on-site headquarters interview - presentation, rather - during which we were given the incredible opportunity to interact one on one with senior leaders, and a personal audience by the CEO Bernardo Hees himself. No other company does anything comparable to this that I've heard of.

Two days later I was called with an offer, which I accepted.

Potential Candidates: If you are given this opportunity - know that nothing like this will likely cross your path again, at least anytime soon. If you want opportunities to grow and succeed in your career, Heinz is THE best place to do so.

Interview Question – The questions may change, so posting one here would likely not help. Show your passion and drive to succeed. Authenticity is key - achievers are welcomed with enthusiasm. Make sure you highlight your accomplishments   View Answer

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at Heinz in September 2011.

Interview Details – The first 2 interviews were by phone with the controller. He was very nice and helpful. My final interview was in person with 4 different people - Factory Manager, HR Manager, Controller and Accounting Manager. I did that in mid Sept and was hired the end of October and started the middle of November - so not a short process.

Interview Question – Questions were not to unusual - what can you do for us? Why would you want to come here?   Answer Question

Supply Chain Analyst Interview

Supply Chain Analyst
Pittsburgh, PA

I applied online and the process took 10 months - interviewed at Heinz in June 2011.

Interview Details – Initial communication was submitting resume on website...this is required. Received follow up call. Took a long time (several months) to schedule interviews. Interviewed with 5 people, all in one day. Six months went by, heard nothing. Finally they called and offered me a position, different that the one I interviewed for. The hiring process is very different from working at Heinz. The hiring process gives one a very negative view of Heinz, but working there is a positive experience.

Interview Question – What would you be doing if you weren't working in this field?   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – I accepted initial offer and did not attempt to negotiate.
