Location Manager/Sales Associate Interview

Location Manager/Sales Associate
Gaylord, MI

I applied through other source - interviewed at Hertz in April 2014.

Interview Details – Applied for the job after seeing it advertised in a local paper. Received a phone call in which the caller talked with me and set up an interview based on the conversation being positive. The interview was informal. There was no testing. The interviewer was most concerned that I was over qualified and wouldn't be happy working in the office/position as it wasn't one of Hertz's large agencies. The interviewer told me he would check within their organization for a better fit for my background.

Interview Question – Aren't you over qualified for this position?   View Answer

Airport Location Manager Interview

Airport Location Manager
Tampa, FL

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Hertz in December 2013.

Interview Details – Initial Phone Screening by a recruiter who assesses qualifications and past experience and gives you some information on the job. From there is the first interview with the City Operations Manager, who asks general and standard interview questions : behavioral, past situations and what you did, why you want to work at hertz, etc. Following that you may be called for a second interview with the General Manager. This is almost identical to the first interview. It may vary depending on the experience and creativity of the General Manager. but there is standard interview sheet that they use, and for me, the two interviewers asked the same questions.

Interview Question – Nothing. Just be prepared to answer why you want to work at Hertz, and further more in this industry. Be aware that you should express your ability to motivate other employees especially in sales and closing sales.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Some negotiation possible, they will always low ball at the lowest and say that you can get a 2000 raise upon completion of training modules. That is a lie, the 2k is a one time pay out, and you can negotiate at least an additional 5k depending on experience.

Location Manager I Interview

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 5+ weeks - interviewed at Hertz in October 2011.

Interview Details – Most questions dealt with problem solving and also being able to deal with stressful situations. Most interview questions seemed pretty basic how would you deal with an upset customer? What goals do you have? Where do you see yourself in 3 years? etc.

Interview Question – Hypothetical problem solving questions were the only challenge.   Answer Question

Location Manager Interview

Location Manager
College Station, TX

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Hertz in January 2010.

Interview Details – A week after putting my application in, I recieved a phone call to schedule an interview. After that the next day I received a phone call with them making an offer to me. Then I got scheduled for my drug screen and had to turn in paperwork for background check. It took almost two weeks for it to come back but I started the day after they called. Of course the people aren't here anymore that did my interviews, and they do it about the same way still but with different people.

Interview Question – The most difficult questions that I cam across were asking about how I would handle a situation that I had never been in. This made it difficult to think ofr the answer on the spot, but they are very patient and tell you to take your time.   Answer Question

Location Manager Trainee Interview

Location Manager Trainee
Temple Hills, MD

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Hertz in February 2013.

Interview Details – Well, I applied online and about two weeks later a regional recruiter contacted me via email asking to call her if I was still interested in the position. I called her immediately and she verified my information and explained the process and asked why I would fit well in the position. She liked my response and called me the next day to set up an interview with the area manager. The interview with the area manager was pretty short. Behavioral questions and explained the position. He said he definitely wanted me to meet with a branch manager. About two hours later, the recruiter called me and set up an interview with a branch manager for the next day. I went into that, it was very down to earth and conversational. The manager said he would like me to join the team and now I am waiting to hear back from the recruiter now. Its only been two days.

Interview Question – There were no difficult or unexpected questions.   Answer Question
