Life Sciences/Higher Education Analyst (Experienced) Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
Application Details

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks - interviewed at Huron Consulting Group in April 2013.

Interview Details

My interview process moved really quickly in the Higher Education/Life Sciences practice. I only had two days’ notice for my interview and I received an offer the next business day. Experienced analyst candidates (1-3 years of exp. post-college or before/after grad school) need to prepare a business plan and slide deck and present the slide deck to senior staff as part of the case response. I was not asked to complete a math question. Industry knowledge is very helpful for the case, but they also want to see your thought process. Campus hire analysts just need to walk through a case focused on process.

Interview Questions
  • The case was not particularly difficult but during the presentation the senior staff will ask lots of tough questions and put you on the spot. For example, they asked me how much my case solution would cost and how long it would take to implement.   View Answer
Negotiation Details
They would not negotiate my salary, saying there was a cap on Analyst pay. I was not particularly thrilled with the offer but accepted the job.
