Team Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate

I applied online and the process took 5 weeks - interviewed at InterContinental Hotels.

Interview Details – Applied for the position online and was given a phone interview about 2 weeks later. The interview was conducted by 2 people. Asked what my definition of integrity. About 2 weeks later I was called back for a face to face interview. I was taken on a tour of the facility, it was a very nice contact center. I was then interviewed by two Operation Managers who were very nice and personable. The interview questions weren't too difficult, typical contact center questions. How would you motivate your team and earn their respect? How would you respond to change? They gave me the opportunity to ask questions. Overall great interview, very nice and professional people. Hope to hear from them soon.

Interview Question – The most unexpected question but not difficult was if you were any kind of animal what would it be and why? Guess a character question. It was fun.   Answer Question

Brand Service Consultant Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate
Atlanta, GA

I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at InterContinental Hotels in September 2013.

Interview Details – Applied for a position with IHG Atlanta. This position was for a consultant for the region in which I live. The consultant has 50 plus hotels that they work with the hotel regarding performance issues. Applied for the position online and received a response via email on a Saturday which stated that I would need to reply by noon on Sunday in order to be considered. On Monday, there was a 15 minute telephone interview. After the 15 minute interview then you are asked to answer questions in written form. The questions are vague and the information given may not be something you would know unless you already work for the company.

Interview Question – The two questions consisted of one concerning how would you come to an agreement and the second was how would one schedule their daily work and travel. As an HR professional and one that has been in business for many years they are really no brainers.   View Answer

Manager, Procurement Research Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate
North Atlanta, GA

I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at InterContinental Hotels in April 2013.

Interview Details – The interview process was relatively short. The HR Recruiter emailed me to set up a time for me to come in and meet with the hiring manager and one of his partners. I then had a panel interview with the hiring manager, the colleague and the HR Recruiter. Questions were expected given the job description. After the initial round, the hiring manager asked to talk to me on the phone regarding two further questions. Upon going through that stage, the hiring manager decided to rescope the position

Human Resource Manager Interview

I applied online and the process took 3+ weeks - interviewed at InterContinental Hotels in April 2013.

Interview Details – Panel interview with General Manager and two other Assistant Managers. The on-line application was easy. A phone call set up the interview. Prior to the interview the panel did not review the application well. When I explained my availability date, that was the deal breaker. The application had my availability date on it, so that should have eliminated me from consideration based on the timeline to start they wanted.

Interview Question – Is there a difference between being a leader and being a manager?   Answer Question

Food and Beverage Management Trainee Interview

Food and Beverage Management Trainee
Columbus, OH

I applied online and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at InterContinental Hotels in November 2012.

Interview Details – Great Experience...Met with 2 members of F/B team. Called back to meet with director. Very nice people, decent interview, but felt I was not the candidate they were looking for, gut feeling. No follow up from IHG, which was disappointing. Even though you feel like you did not get the job, the closure is always nice. Would have loved the offer, IHG seems like a great company to work for.

Interview Question – Pretty standard interview questions.   Answer Question
