I applied through college or university – interviewed at International Game Technology.

    Interview Details

Applied through a recruiter met at a university career fair. I wasn't qualified for a Sr. level position but was told the requirements could be changed for the right candidate. On what was supposed to be an informal phone interview to answer questions I had, I was asked a long serious of CS theory and application questions in a language that I had indicated that I knew. I blanked out and messed up most due to not having worked with that particular language in years. I wasn't contacted again.

I got an interview call fairly easily. Interview started with one sup in front and 5 managers on phone. It was purely technical interview; no explanation of job; questions were divided in 4-5 areas of the job each person took their turn and questions proceeded from simple to difficult.

Interview took about 1 hour in a room with 4-5 individuals from the team you would prospectively be working with. Some were managers others were members on the team that had openings for interviews that day. Interview questions were not hard, some basic questions about SQL, testing, etc. Most questions were behavioral asking how well you worked in a team, what your weaknesses are, etc.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at International Game Technology in May 2013.

I applied for several positions with this company and have barely received the courtesy of a "thanks but no thanks" email. With auto-respond the norm these days, I fail to see why companies can't send some kind of acknowledgement. I did get one interview, but I believe the position was already filled internally, and they were going through the motions.

    Interview Questions
    • The most unexpected thing about the interview was the two people interviewing me lifted the questions verbatim from the Yahoo Project Manager interview questions! Seriously, word for word. I was stunned.   View Answer

Submit resume, get phone call from HR and schedules initial phone interview. Conference call with multiple people. Initial interview was technical - asked previous projects, experience. In the initial phone interview they weren't interested in my personality, they were only interested in technical knowledge. They do not give you a call when you didn't make it through.

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at International Game Technology in November 2011.

    Interview Details

The interview process consisted of a phone interview with the recruiter, followed up by a phone interview by the Engineering manager on the same day. The next day I received a call to come down to their offices in San Francisco for an interview. The interview process lasted a total of 3 hours and consisted of a 4 part panel interview comprised of groups of 3 to 8 interviewers at a time. During the interview I was asked to go over some programming logic and programming concepts and overall the interview process was very technical and I froze on everything I had learned in school. A week later I received an email letting me know that they decided to go another with another candidate because my technical skills were not at a level they expected and I cannot say I blame them because I still have a lot to learn.

I applied online. The process took a dayinterviewed at International Game Technology in November 2011.

    Interview Details

Applied via linkedin and received a phone call 3 days later to set up a phone interview (which is weird, because I live 15 minutes from the facility). Interviewer was 15 minutes late calling, and had a very thick English accent. He was very personable, and acknowledged all my answers. Seems like a nice enough guy, but because of his accent, his questions were hard to understand.
