    Interview

Interview process was done remotely (all phone based - no Skype or video conference) as I was relocating to a new city. First step was HR phone screening, followed by a group conference call. On the call I was able to speak to all team members, turned out to be a good team, but would have liked to meet them in person first and had the opportunity to see the office.

    Interview

You will be asked to come in for a series of interviews--first with senior management and then with peers or co-workers. After the interview process you'll be asked to complete a test of varying level of difficulty. It's usually straightforward. They look for grammar and insight, so brush up on reading your quant numbers.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Ipsos (Chicago, IL) in August 2013.

    Interview

There were two phone interviews from two different VPs, one from the local office and one from a different city. Then they brought me in for an in-person interview which was 1:1 with one of the VPs I had interviewed with.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Ipsos.

    Interview

Straightforward process, interviewed with the General Manager, direct supervisor (Senior Research Manager), and 2 other Directors from other departments. After interview, was initially told they gave the position to someone else, but a couple months down the line they contacted me again and said there was an opening and hired me.

    Interview Questions

    • Nothing unusual, just general interview fluff questions about my analytical abilities, university coursework, interests, etc.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I did not negotiate. This was my first job out of university and I hadn't thought to negotiate.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Ipsos (Bellevue, WA) in July 2012.

    Interview

A Senior VP with whom I had met several months previously passed my resume along to the hiring manager. The hiring manager (also a SVP) called me to gauge my interest, and I was interested.

I spoke to the SVP and two VPs over the course of about three weeks. Two interviews were over the phone and the third was an in-person meeting in the office. All the interviews were fairly informal, friendly, and pleasant. They clearly understood who I was, my skills, and where I would fit in the company, and so their questions were designed to determine whether I was a good personality fit rather than whether I was competent or not.

I finally met the SVP (the hiring manager) in person on a Tuesday, and was offered the job the following Monday.

    Interview Questions

    • What has been your experience working with Microsoft clients?   1 Answer

    Negotiation

I received an offer on a Monday, reviewed it and chatted with the hiring manager on Wednesday. Requested a slightly higher salary, and the offer was revised that same day. I accepted the offer after I received the revised version.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took a weekinterviewed at Ipsos (Chicago, IL) in December 2011.

    Interview

Pretty easy. No background checks or tests. I would say it's one of the least rigorous interview process I've done. Everyone was very nice and interesting to speak with.

    Negotiation

They matched by previous employers salary but refused to go above that.
