App is online and assessment challenging, but the interview was not difficult, the key is to be proactive in all your answers and you will be fine. If the hiring manager likes you as a person you will be ok in the hiring process since it is a one on one interview and not a panel interview.

    Interview

They mostly asked situational questions such as: "What would you do if this happened," or "Tell me about a time when this happened and how did you handle it?" Other than that the interview was fairly easy. I think just about anyone can pass it.

I would've had to take a pay cut

Called and asked to come in anytime. No initial time set. I gave a time I would be there and basically sat and talked for 45 minutes with the supervisor. I was then asked to come in for a formal interview a week later. We talked a little more about the scheduling and personal things. I was told I would hear something when their manager returned from their vacation.

    Interview Questions

    • No specific questions. It was more of a conversation between two people. One question asked was "What do you think a loss prevention officer should stand for"   1 Answer

    Reasons for Declining

.The interviewer seemed to give the run around from the get go. Although they were VERY personable and friendly it seemed as if though they were going behind their managers back and interviewing.

    Loss Prevention Investigator Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeksinterviewed at J. C. Penney (DFW, TX) in September 2013.

    Interview

I submitted three applications via the JCP website for other positions but never received a response. I applied to this position via lpjobs.com and received a phone interview 3 days later with the LP Manager. I had an in-person interview with that same manager two weeks later and then a phone interview with a manager at the corporate office one week after that. JCPenney uses the behavioral interview centering around specific situations a person has been in, what actions the person took, and the results of the actions. This takes a lot of self-awareness and I recommend conducting an interview of the many types of environments you've been in and what you did to make it better.
