I applied online. The process took 4 weeksinterviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Phone screen followed by two in-person interviews. Starts with fundamentals and goes into details and I suggest a solid Java fundamentals knowledge would be a good thing before the interview.

    Interview Questions

    • In person interviews are a kind of deep dive. I had the second in-person interview for 1.5 hrs covering most of the Java programming skills.   Answer Question

    Interview

The hiring process is lengthy. I met with many LOB managers and potential peers who asked very good questions. Human resources contact was knowledgable and helpful. Overall a great experience.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Three interviews over the phone (HR, hiring manager, and their manager). No technical questions. No onsite visit. It was quite long process. They did not make an attempt to learn about my skills/experience, as if I was needed as a number. One of the interviewers was talking for 30 minutes or so until I literally intervened.

    Reasons for Declining

The offer was below my expectations. Uncertainty about the group and the work.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Interviewed with three people in person, separately. I don't believe I had a phone interview, at least not like the ones I had with other banks where the HR person interviews you like a real interview over the phone. Hired within two months from the first interview. First interview was with the boss and then with the boss's peers. Friendly interviewers. They made you feel at ease. No hard questions. Just the standard: Why do you want to work here? Tell me about yourself. What do you know about the position. They never asked the type of compensation I was looking for. HR kept me in the loop, but I had to call a few times to see the status.

    Reasons for Declining

    Pay was not high enough.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at J.P. Morgan (New York, NY) in August 2014.

    Interview

Phone screens + onsite + follow up phone interview. Recruiter was very aggressive, not friendly, said offer was "take it or leave it." Offer was low and I was not happy with it so I declined. Group seemed good, but offer was not competitive.

    Interview Questions

    • Nothing unexpected or too difficult. Asked to describe previous projects.   Answer Question

    Reasons for Declining

    Salary too low.

I applied online – interviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Casual first interview then second interview at main headquarters in Phoenix. I was told that I just needed a month to ramp up then I would be making at least 70,000 and upwards from there. I made less in the 8 months I was employed here than I made on my paper route in high school. The role was embellished and no one was honest about the true job situation or pay.

    Interview

The interview process is comprised of a thorough round of an interactive round of question and answer. This includes providing a detailed overview of the position and addressing any questions that the candidate may have. Questions are then posed to the candidate to gauge interest and fit for the role.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult is, after hearing an in-depth overview of the position for which you're interviewing is to then quickly explain why you are a good fit for the role. While this seems easy, it can prove difficult to put your talents in the context of the job description that was provided a few minutes prior.   Answer Question
