    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (Columbus, OH) in June 2015.

    Interview

Interviewed with 6 people on 3 different days. 1st interview went great. They outlined the position and a great fit. 2nd interview the Sr. VP was very rushed and didn't have questions prepared. He gave me conflicting information about the position and job specifications. They contacted my references prior to my third interview. Third interview went well, but they hired internally.

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (New York, NY) in May 2015.

    Interview

The interview process was excellent. I had 6 interviews in total and enjoyed speaking with all the interviewers. I interviewed with the hiring manager, two members of the corresponding business units and two senior level leaders in the organization. I appreciated how prepared all the interviewers were.

Vice President - Branch Manager Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (Louisville, KY) in May 2015.

    Interview

It lasted for 2.5 hours. It was going great and the leadership questions were exactly what you would expect. However, they got into the sales processes and it got really serious. The regional did a role play with me and then did one with one of her branch managers. My scenario was with an existing customer and the branch managers was with a potential customer that had just come into the bank to set up an account. The existing branch manager of course knew their products and a new customer would require more questions. They made me feel inadequate and not only was I nervous but the Chase branch manager had a few things in her favor. They said Chase had a great training program so considering I was very successful at my last branch management position, it seems obvious I could learn their sales processes. The regional promised to contact me either way in a couple of weeks but I never heard a word from her. The interview was thorough but why ask the leadership questions if all that mattered was sales! I had 3 referrals and apparently that added no value either. Extremely disappointed.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in April 2015.

    Interview

I had two telephone interviews with dept. peers. The first interview was enlightening. the interviewer provided me with a detailed description of what the job entailed. I moved on to the 2nd interviewer. The 2nd interviewer seems like s/he had already interviewed someone that s/he felt was a better fit.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Phone screen followed by two in-person interviews. Starts with fundamentals and goes into details and I suggest a solid Java fundamentals knowledge would be a good thing before the interview.

    Interview Questions

    • In person interviews are a kind of deep dive. I had the second in-person interview for 1.5 hrs covering most of the Java programming skills.   Answer Question

    Interview

The hiring process is lengthy. I met with many LOB managers and potential peers who asked very good questions. Human resources contact was knowledgable and helpful. Overall a great experience.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (New York, NY) in December 2014.

    Interview

I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter about 3 weeks later with what I'm pretty sure was a form letter, which is very lame. Worst experience ever dealing with a recruiter. Never on time for calls, never followed up or replied when she said she would, misrepresented the salary range and then came back with a lowball offer. The interview coordinator was no better and I had one round of interviews where not a single person could ever find a conference room to interview in and would have me follow them around the building for 10 minutes of a 30 minute interview. I almost couldn't believe how amateurish the whole thing was. By the last conversation, I was so over it that I probably would have declined regardless of the offer. Maybe I just got a dud who had checked out of their job. Hopefully they're aren't all like that.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Three interviews over the phone (HR, hiring manager, and their manager). No technical questions. No onsite visit. It was quite long process. They did not make an attempt to learn about my skills/experience, as if I was needed as a number. One of the interviewers was talking for 30 minutes or so until I literally intervened.

    Reasons for Declining

The offer was below my expectations. Uncertainty about the group and the work.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan.

    Interview

Interviewed with three people in person, separately. I don't believe I had a phone interview, at least not like the ones I had with other banks where the HR person interviews you like a real interview over the phone. Hired within two months from the first interview. First interview was with the boss and then with the boss's peers. Friendly interviewers. They made you feel at ease. No hard questions. Just the standard: Why do you want to work here? Tell me about yourself. What do you know about the position. They never asked the type of compensation I was looking for. HR kept me in the loop, but I had to call a few times to see the status.
