I applied online and the process took 2 months - interviewed at J.P. Morgan in December 2012.

Interview Details – The interview process was sraight forward and productive. The hiring team was professional and seemed approachable. The Compliance PMO team is clearly aligned to be successful. The Executive Director and Managing Director were candid and were a class act. The members of ths staff were professional and focused on the success of the division. It was the best interview process I have participated in my 20 year career.

Reason for Declining – The offer/hiring process was grueling and took the shine off of the successful interview process - HR Coordination was unorganized although the HR resources were very nice and corrected their mistakes quickly. During the offer the HR lead did not display good negotiation skills. It took over a month for her to come back with no contingency in place or a counter for any of my requests. I communicated regularly to express continued interest and offer several options outside of compensation. The benefits are common so no real benefit unless you are without benefits. She did the bait and switch with the bonus by vaguely discussing it as a cash bonus - when the official offer came on paper it was a cash/equity combination tied to the vesting plan. Additionally, the vendors they use for the onboarding process are less than professional. At the vendor site - they did not have the same work hours as provided by the HR Coordinators. Therefore, I had the pleasure of going to two different sites. At one site the vendor staff was cordial when they heard I was there for Chase, however, they were clearly annoyed/unprofessional with other candidates for other account holders. The onboarding experience made me weary about the service level agreements Chase considered within "compliance" for the entire organization.
