Licensed Personal Banker Interview

Licensed Personal Banker
New York, NY

I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at J.P. Morgan.

Interview Details – "Sell me this pen". That's probably sums up the entire interview. If you can sell the pen, you get the job.

One phase that they want to hear during the interview is "CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE". The company make customer satisfication a top priority over anything else. Tell them that you want to provide customers with the best possible experience and you will stand out immediately.

Other than that, it's a standard interview. A branch manager will interview you. There will be someone else behind him/her listening and taking notes, maybe even adding in additional questions/comments. Once you pass this interview, there's a 2nd interview with the distrinct manager. Once you pass that, then you're good to go.

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 1+ week - interviewed at J.P. Morgan in September 2013.

Interview Details – I was called by a recruiter that explained that Chase wanted to hire prior military. I went on-line filled out application and completed assessment. Was called by asst. branch manager and scheduled a face to face interview with branch manager and asst. branch manager. The interview was typical with information and structured interview questions. I felt I had successfully answered all the questions.

I applied through college or university and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at J.P. Morgan in February 2013.

Interview Details – While the initial interviewing process was good, I found the final round of the interview not as fair as the previous two. My final round of the interview was very short (10 min) as opposed to the allotted time of 30 minutes. I felt that my interviewer was trying to rush me at the door, rather than actually decide if I was the right person for the job.

I applied online and the process took 3 days - interviewed at J.P. Morgan in July 2012.

Interview Details – I apply for personal banker (bilingual) 2 days later i receive a call to set up a phone interview i did the call pass it (don't freak out they will just ask what makes a good sells man, how would you deal whit a mad customer ans little staff like that and than she offer me the interview going to the Kettering town center balding in downtown Dayton wait there for about 30 minutes on a 10 by 10 ft room i swear i felt so uncomfortable than i get a interviewer who was A Mexican born in the united states (Chicano) and i felt that when he was interviewing me he was being a little sarcastic as well as the fact that he acted like he couldn't understand me i have a degree on IT. as well as business administration. i believe i answer all the questions in a correct matter and also nail the roll play because of this site make sure you have knowledge on financial products that chase offers don't lack on that.
the interview was about 45 minutes long and at the end he say he dint think that was the job for me. he told me to go to the website and look up other jobs and than he star talking about Columbus Ohio jobs that there are alot of opening and that i might have a chance and than he say that there was a teller position available about 1:20 minutes from where i live i was really mad and i dint show it i just say that fine i'll do that than just walked out! that was my experience guys i hope it helps.

The process took a day - interviewed at J.P. Morgan in May 2012.

Interview Details – It was an Interview with 4 different Branch managers from different locations all in one location which they called an interview session. After filling out the application online I received a call a few days later with a date, time and location of the interview session. There were like 6 people there waiting and the managers just took turns calling names to meet with them until everyone was interviewed by 3 different managers. All the managers asked for you to pitch them, two asked as if they were an actual customer and pitch them on Chase services, and one asked me to sell them a pen.

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 2 days - interviewed at J.P. Morgan in November 2011.

Interview Details – The recruiter was nice at first but when I told her that I was only interested in management opportunities she scoffed at the idea. She discredited me for all the work I had done with my previous bank as a branch manager and said that I would need double the years of experience to come in from the outside as a branch manager or even assistant manager. She continued to try and shove the personal banker role down my throat even when I repeatedly told her that it was not what I was looking for. She then told me in a snotty tone of voice to send my resume to her and we would go from there. Because of her poor attitude and her putting me down I did not forward my resume.

Interview Question – She asked right off the bat how much I was expecting to get paid if an offer was made. Most of the time that question is more towards the end.   View Answers (2)
