    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Jack Henry & Associates (Houston, TX) in March 2015.

    Interview

Short phone interview from the hiring manager to explain the position and departments and then in person interview consisted of what did you do type questions. Met with two managers for the actual interview and the hiring manager was very good about setting expectations for the process.
The managers took turns asking questions during the interview and it flowed very well. Some of the questions stumped me but they allowed me to come back if needed.

    Interview

SLOW. Applied in August, contacted in December, interviewed in January, hired in February. The company takes forever to hire new people, so if you are intent on working there just be patient and persistent. The interview itself was pretty standard, maybe even low-key. Afterwards the hiring manager sent me to lunch with the rest of the team so they could get a good feel for my fit on the team. I did the same thing with prospective hires once I was employed there.

    Interview Questions

    • None come to mind - the usual interview questions about what to do in hypothetical situations.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

The company always lowballs their offers. I accepted far too low and watched others get hired years later for much more than I was making.

    Application

I applied online. The process took a weekinterviewed at Jack Henry & Associates in January 2015.

    Interview

I applied directly from their job board. I was contacted very promptly by Human Resources to set up an interview. HR was always very easy to work with and very informative - I definitely had a lot of questions. When interview time came around I met with the hiring manager in his office, and it felt like a conversation more than a formal "interview" per se, which definitely put me at ease. In my opinion, the process could not have gone smoother.

    Interview Questions

    • This doesn't really apply... the hiring manager just wanted to make sure I understood what I was getting into.   Answer Question

    Difficult Interview

    Interview

can be very lengthy from initial online application to final interview. Jack Henry uses performance based interviewing... instead of what would you do in this situation... give me an example of a time you were in this situation and what you did to resolve it. The most difficult part is the tag team interviewing that seems designed to wear you down to answer in the negative or about negative things... questions like Give me an example of a time you failed, what action did you take. Give me an example of when you had poor co workers on a team, how did you approach the problem. Give me an example when you had a conflict with your supervisor, and they were wrong - what did you do? Give me an example of an unrealistic deadline, how did you meet. Many of these types of kind of negative questions, (makes it hard to focus on being positive the way several are worded.) Honestly so many questions were this way it made the interview seem uncomfortable and kind of ... negative; certainly not a positive experience. Some of the interviewers also seemed uncomfortable but some explained they were using a script mandated for interviewing and could not deviate from it. Seemed exhausting for the interviewers and interviewees; if they are this determined to be negative in interviews.... made you wonder about the company in general.

    Interview Questions

    • Give me an example when you had a conflict with your supervisor, and they were wrong - what did you do?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

In most cases there is not much negotiation room. Was told salaries are in ranges and most hires are expected to be at the bottom of the scale for that job so they have room to grow in the position without hitting the cap salary.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Jack Henry & Associates (Monett, MO) in August 2014.

    Interview

I applied online; received a call to interview ( was able to have my interview that day).

The interview included two interviewers; they explained the position, and asked fairly basic/general questions regarding employment.

We spent a lot of time discussing working there as opposed to my current employer.

    Interview Questions

    • What are you going to miss most about your current job?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

They made me an offer, and I took it. I felt no need to negotiate.

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Jack Henry & Associates.

    Interview

We use a behavioral based interview process, usually a panel of 3 managers will conduct the question asking behavioral based questions. The process usually takes about 1 hour. After the interview process the managers then discuss and make recommendation to the hiring manager on weather to offer a position.

    Interview Questions

    • How do you handle a situation when you are asked to complete a project as a member of a team, and the team isnt working well together?   Answer Question

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ monthsinterviewed at Jack Henry & Associates (Lenexa, KS).

    Interview

Exaggerated, 3-8 interviews sometimes all the way up to GM (aka EVP). Even for entry level personnel. I personally don't understand the need.

    Interview Questions

    • This is a company that is trapped in the world of the 70/80's. They will ask questions about your age and ability to manage children and work. You will get one of two interviewers one that doesn't know what the job entails and/or one that asks question total out of scope for the position. But that's what makes it fun.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Negotiation...? there wasn't any you take what they give. In the case of JHA I can go to their competitors for much more money at anytime. Oh and they don't have you sign a none compete.
