I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Just Energy.

Interview Details – In person interview. A phone call was made to schedule an interview. They did not even go over the process of the interview and the duration. I had to fill out a paper application which asked for rather redundant questions.

Interview Question – None. Very basic questions.   View Answer

I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Just Energy.

Interview Details – Applied and received a call a few days later. Scheduled interview for the next day. There was a sign instructing you to complete an application and wait to be called. Recruiter came out to get you on a first come first serve basis instead of the actual interview time given. When she got the application from you, she still never introduced herself or call you by your name. Interview was rushed and not hard at all.

Interview Question – No difficult questions. Just how you feel about commission pay structure, how you feel about sales, why should I hire you questions.   Answer Question

Call Center Representative Interview

Call Center Representative
Bingham Farms, MI

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Just Energy in October 2013.

Interview Details – Called in the morning to inquire about the call center position listed online. It was very a very brief ad and stated $18-$20 per hour. I called to inquire, the lady that answered said that 19-20 was the base pay, and there was no commission or selling involved. I know if it sounds too good to be true it is, but still I wanted to go to an interview and find out more. Once you get there you wait, they bring you and about 30 other applicants in a room. A director comes in and gives you the low down on the company before the one on one interviews start. He informs you then that you are out in the field meeting with potential customers (basically canvassing door to door) And the pay is 100% commission. No base pay. Hours will be from 9:30 am to 9:00pm 12 hour days are the average.

Interview Question – I did not stay for the actual interview, once I heard it was canvassing and not at all what I was lead to believe I walked out.   Answer Question

Customer Service Representative Interview

Customer Service Representative
South Bend, IN

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Just Energy.

Interview Details – I went in for an interview in South Bend, Indiana. I was called and was scheduled to interview the very next day. That should have been my first red flag. I was supposed to be interviewing with someone I will not name. In any case, I showed up and was greeted near the reception desk by a man in a suit that said "Come on in here." pointing to a room. I assumed I was interviewing with him in that room. When I walked into the room, There was a room full of people and I was told to take a seat. The man that I was supposed to be interviewing with was not even there - another red flag. I was told he was "out in the field". I would say there was about 50 people in that room. This guy stood up in front of the room and started giving a presentation about Just Energy. He asked everyone what cell phone carrier they had to try to prove a point that not everyone had the same carrier and therefore energy would be the same way. He went on to basically say that they were going to be hiring people on the spot and that they would show up to work that same week. He promised big money saying that when he got his first paycheck, he could not believe it. I don't see how anyone could do a background check & check references withinn the same week - another red flag. I looked around the room and most of the people there were very casually dressed, a lot with tatoos and many seemed to have little education past high school. I felt very out of place. I waited until the presentation concluded and when they started calling people back for interviews, I left. That's right, I had a scheduled "interview" for what was actually a cattle call and a "wait in line for your turn to interview". It was the most unprofesssional interviewing experience I have ever encountered,

Interview Question – Was not asked questions.   Answer Question

Administrative Interview

Administrative
South Bend, IN

I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at Just Energy in August 2010.

Interview Details – I applied for the position out of the blue, and I got a phone call asking for an interview the next day. The interview was scheduled for the day after that. The interview lasted less than 10 minutes. I talked less than three sentences. Overall, the shortest real interview I have ever had. I think the interviewer just wanted to get me out of there.

Interview Question – Tell me about yourself.   Answer Question

I applied through college or university and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Just Energy in June 2014.

Interview Details – Conducted a phone interview, questions were similar to that of an in person interview (e.g. what do you know about the company, tell me about yourself, what are your strengths/weaknesses). Received an invitation for an in-person interview two weeks after. The in-person interview was split into two parts. First part was the same as the in-person (e.g. what do you know about the company, etc.), and the second part was two brain teasers. I was told that third round interviews (case-based) would start the following week.

Customer Service Representative Interview

Customer Service Representative
Ottawa, ON (Canada)

I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Just Energy in April 2014.

Interview Details – Only one interview, with the manager who was very nice and broke the ice subtly but effectively. We realized it wasn't going to work out because of my availability but despite that she still continued the interview and gave some great feedback. Overall a good interview.

Interview Question – Whether I would be well-suited to the duties of the task. I wasn't quite sure how to answer this as I though the obvious answer would be "yes of course".   View Answer
